Torpedo

Sleeping without the air last night was fine temperature wise – but this little torpedo kept me tossing and turning! From body parts in the ribs (in my hurt muscle spot!) to Braxton Hicks contractions (brought on by me involuntarily flexing my abs!?), I must have switched from left to right side 50 times.

He must be excited about his shower today!

Interesting observation: I was originally going to have cereal with milk for breakfast, so I poured a milk portion of cereal (=the whole bottom of the shallow bowl plus some). Then I decided to have yogurt instead of milk and thought to myself “I have way too much cereal for yogurt!”

I usually put my yogurt in the bowl first and use the cereal as a topping whereas with milk, the cereal is the base and the milk a topping. Perhaps that’s why it’s so easy to overeat cereal with milk!?

This bowl was handmade by our family friend Mark Latta – it’s a really cool shallow style and the portion ended up being just fine : )  Wild Squirrel Honey Pretzel on top (I gave it to mom for Christmas and she’s still working through!)

Cereal just isn’t filling for me! But I do love it for breakfast so I always have to pair it with other things like eggs, yogurt, juice, and fruit!

I love the bowl – and the table!

And some of my best breakfasts come out of my indecision. I’ll start making something then crave something else and just throw it on what I’ve already made. That’s actually how I started eating the waffle stack! 🙂

i am completely on board with the yogurt vs. milk issue! if i have cereal with milk, “i’m having cereal,” but if i’m having it with yogurt, “i’m having yogurt… with cereal.”

    have fun at the shower!!!

I accidentally clicked on the short rib Mother’s day meal just now. But I have a question about carbs. We talked before about portion control. But you guys had corn for dinner that night. Did that count as your starch like in place of rice, potatoes or pasta? I may eat corn and rice int he same meal. Trying to figure out why and how I always go over.

S/N: breakfast looks so good. Had Cville crunch egg sandwich for breakfast. Might have cereal for lunch now

I honestly don’t pay that close attention to it : ) And I’m not in weight loss mode at the moment. I wouldn’t worry so much about two real foods like that – neither portion was jumbo.

Ye, corn is a starch. If you’re really strict and trying to lose weight, that would be something to consider….but only of you eat a large option of it with dinner.

Interesting observation!! It’s hard for me to eat cereal because I have a tendency to refill my bowl until the milk’s used up, but maybe I’d be less likely to overeat with yogurt! I also find yogurt more filling than milk so that would be a perk as well. Have a fun day!

The only time I have cereal with milk is if I don’t have a big appetite for breakfast… otherwise I always have it with yogurt because it’s so much more filling that way!

I really love that bowl. I collect handmade pottery and the shape and pattern are so nice. Your bump is still a cute little size. I was a big blob by the time I was as far along as you are. Not long now!

I’m the same way about cereal, but I never actually gave it much thought until now! I think I put less cereal on my yogurt because I think of yogurt as having some good substance/filling-factor on its own, whereas milk doesn’t really have that. Interesting observation!

I love how you add so many incredible toppings to your cereal. Also, your baby bump is growing which must be exciting! I hope you are enjoying pregnancy.
