Topping Tales

Morning!!!

 this !

We’re so late because we went RUNNING. First thing to get it all done because we have a very busy day. Of course I didn’t want to go when I woke up. But as usual, Matt suggested we go. I mentally decided to do the shorter route. We went. Ran 4.8 miles. And now I’m high on endorphins!!!

Wheeeee!

IMG_5595Blog

And to top it off, breakfast was fabulous!

IMG_5588Blog

IMG_5600Blog

While I showered, Matt made whipped banana oatmeal. You know, I am not the oatmeal master. HE IS. I am too lazy to stand by the pot and actually whip the oats. I’m usually off preparing for the photoshoot or getting out toppings. But Matt patiently stirs the oats and they turn out SO creamy and fluffy!

IMG_5590Blog IMG_5589Blog

Today’s toppings included a Brazil Nut butter by Futters. I have had this for YEARS!! (I believe it was a gift from VeggieGirl!) In the past, I haven’t loved the plain nut butters as much as the super fancy Nuttzo + Naturally Nutty flavored ones. So this guy sat in my stash. But now my stash is low!

And you know what I did? I stirred in about a tsp each of salt and sugar and now it is SO good!! Like an almond cookie (yes almond even though it’s brazil nut!)

IMG_5597Blog

IMG_5592Blog

Other toppings included Rosie’s Best chocolate granola, Lauren Espresso Maple Salty Pecans and butterscotch chips!!!!!!!!! Butterchips are one of my very favorite oatmeal toppings. They are anything but healthy though, so I only buy them when I have baking to do. And I have baking to do! Then I get to use the extras on my oats : )

IMG_5587Blog

IMG_5582Blog

Matt and I are working hard on bakery things these days – loan, contractors, layouts. And we’re taking Karen to an appt. this morning. Tonight we have Holiday Party #3!

Signed,

Cheerful in Charlottesville

I LOVE the idea of adding butterscotch chips to oatmeal. They’re so delicious – but I’m with you, I only purchase them for a special baking treat, which doesn’t happen much.

Anybody know of butterscotch chips that are made without artificial colors? Yet another reason I rarely buy them.
