Tie-Dye and Poppyseeds

It was hard getting up this morning, but I was awake at 5:30 to get in some yoga before class. I did 40 minutes of Hip Opening Flow #4 from YogaDownload. It felt soooo good. And was a great flow. Recommended!

I sent Matt on his way to work a 12 hour day at 6:30 – dressed in tie-dye

IMG_4368 (1024x768)

He left this Lemon Poppyseed Tea Cake from Great Harvest for my mom to have for breakfast as a treat.

IMG_4369 (1024x768)

Which we promptly crumbled over oatmeal!

The mix (serves 1)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, half banana, pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp cottage cheese
  • Vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp crumbled tea cake
  • 1 tbsp flax
  • 1 tbsp almonds
  • Spoonful Barney Butter

Spring Blend

And new placemat!

Dad is driving Kelsey and me to school today!!! Mom is coming to Food Lab. Should make it more fun 🙂

I love the placemat reflection of your bowl. : )

Question: I was just sitting here thinking. I ALWAYS have trouble figuring out exactly how much exercise I should get while trying to lose weight vs maintain weight(this is probably a no brainer). Sometimes I think I over do it just end up making myself REALLY hungry, which causes me to eat, which causes me to not lose weight. Do you remember how much daily/weekly exercise you did while losing weight? Or at least have advice for how much is a reasonable amount? Thanks!

Have fun taking your mom to class!! : )

Great questions Melissa. Kath, I’m really interested for your input. I too find it hard to balance excerising a lot vs that making me ravenous and then overeating my calorie allotment. (FYI personally I’m aiming for 1700/day for weight loss currently, so it’s not some insane low amount). Thanks!

    Meaghen ,
    It’s just his newest shirt.

    Cindy ,
mom got them at Southern Season.

    bobbi ,
    It’s from my grandmother’s collection.

    Melissa + Elizabeth ,
I did the same amount of exercise I do now during weight loss – about an hour a day. I often would go for a walk too – but just a stroll at lunch. When you say you are ravenous, make sure you are not just thirsty. I find when I exercise more I have to drink more, and sometimes that’s confused with hunger.

    Jennifer ,
    Have they? No reason.
