This & That

Foodblog (11 of 11) this !

Hey, hey, hey!! I’m so happy to have this little guy back in my arms! I missed him while he was in California. But he had a blast with KK!

When Mazen and Matt got home from the airport I had dinner waiting for them. Rotisserie chicken, herby massaged kale salad, and sweet potato fries. Mazen was way too excited about showing me his new toy shark to eat dinner. He’s really into Star Wars, sharks and Legos these days.

A smoothie for breakfast. One of my stacked smoothie testers. I had smoothies for days after that recipe shoot!

Foodblog (1 of 1)-7

First Caprese salad of the season! Heirloom, basil from my garden, and buf.

Foodblog (7 of 11)

This cheese!!!!!!! It’s $10 and I cringe every time I buy it, but it is SO worth it. The best mozzarella ever. I also love the petite size, so you don’t have to make a mess slicing it.

Foodblog (8 of 11)

Kale salads, all the time. I mostly use a big jar of pesto as my dressing, as it provides the best base flavor. Here it is topped with chicken, dilled Havarti cheese and sweet potato fries.

Foodblog (1 of 1)-2

Here’s brunch at ACAC. A green smoothie and banana for a snack later.

Foodblog (1 of 1)-11

Guess who is coming to C’ville again?!?!?!?! BEN RECTOR! I’m so excited for September!! (Can you tell? 🙂 )

This made me cry:

This made me happy:

Foodblog (1 of 1)-4

I had lunch with my friend Hillary at The Local Smokehouse in Belmont. Man, it was a great lunch!

Foodblog (3 of 6)

BBQ chicken over salad, with a really great dressing and a cornbread muffin.

Foodblog (2 of 6)

I came home from soccer one night and made a chicken version of my Chop Chop Mediterranean Salad.

Foodblog (1 of 1)-6

A late night dinner!

Foodblog (1 of 1)-3

There’s a really great greenway near my house that makes the perfect shady four mile run. Hopped on it!

Foodblog (10 of 10)

“When it’s hot, eat a root beer popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind”

Love this video. Love that song. Love Tim McGraw.

I love that song and i love Tim too. That caprese salad made me excited for our tomato season in New Hampshire! Hope you’re doing well!

    Welcome home, Mazen!

All about the basil and pesto around here lately. The basil in our garden has taken off, so we’re pretty excited about freezing a ton of pesto for this winter. Have to try it massaged into kale!

That looks like a great place to go for a run! And the bowl on the floor made me crack up! Lol!

That trail looks so beautiful! And so does that caprese salad! With Mazen being into Sharks, this is the perfect time for him with Shark Week! Most of the shows are educational–some do have a little more gruesome content.

Oh so many good eats here! Loving that simple sweet potato, chicken and kale dinner idea… and using pesto for salads.

I have to say that I am super impressed with the relationship you have with Matt still, i m so happy you are finding YOUR balance! Those salads look delicious — i always stick to the same boring salads, i need to change it up a bit!

Hi kath! I’m always curious where is Mazen when you go out to lunch all the time? I have two kids and go out to lunch alone with friends probably twice a year so I’m intrigued!

He’s either in school or camp this summer. He loves both and is having a blast. It’s a win-win.

Smoothies for breakfast are the best, but great anytime of day 🙂 Mine & my family’s favorite smoothie right now are chocolate ones!

I am going to look for buf Mozzarella! We love cheese!

The baby mozzerella looks so cute and squishy, I just want to kill it.

On another note, who takes the photos of you and your little one? 🙂

Thanks for ‘Humble and Kind’. After a tough day at work and 27 days away from meeting the Daughter we are about to adopt, I am raw to the bone, this helped me let ‘er rip with emotion. Better now. Much appreciated.

That Tim McGraw song is perfection. Every time it comes on the radio I roll my windows down, turn it up and sing along.
