The Snow Lay On The Ground

Snow day!!!!

IMG_6431 (590x393)

But not so fun since we have plans to go shopping this morning. Cville has it worse than we did, and the bakery is actually closed today! The roads were too bad at 3am for our bakers to drive in (and one was without power!)

IMG_6432 (590x393)

Déjà vu breakfast! Bills says hello from her usual spot

IMG_6438 (590x393)

IMG_6437 (590x393)

I feasted on cereal [bran flakes and cheerios] with strawberries and banana, raisins, cinnamon and Nuttzo.

IMG_6435 (393x590)

Plus the usual cup of tea. I found an Earl Grey, which my mom hates (she ONLY likes Lipton!), but it pleased me!

IMG_6439 (590x393)

Larbs has today off for the holiday too, so we’re meeting her at the mall in a bit. I won’t be heading to my regular stores this time because I’m bound to grow out of anything in a few weeks. We’ll be checking into the maternity stores!

I’ve been wearing maternity jeans full time for a two weeks now. Not because my old pants won’t button, but because they won’t button comfortably and the Beband was just too shifty. I bought one pair at Kohl’s and LOVE them – even more than I used to love my regular jeans! They have a low dark blue band that doesn’t mean I have yards of fabric around my waist before I need it.

[11 weeks in the maternity jeans!]

11 weeks

I feel like everyone fights admitting that their belly has grown this early and the need for maternity jeans, but my advice it to buy one pair as soon as your regular jeans feel the slightly bit uncomfortable! You know you’ll need them eventually…

I’m going to have to pop in with a phone post mid-day because my computer is kaput. I can’t import any photos and that’s essential to what I do!

Definitely embrace the maternity jeans, they are definitely more comfortable than trying to feel comfortable in your regular jeans that are not designed for pregnant bodies. I gained right at 20 lbs while my arms and legs didn’t change in size much my body spread and expanded so I agree that maternity clothes are necessary even early on and you the truth is most women wear them post-delivery for a period of time. At least they are making maternity clothes a lot more stylish and a lot of the regular styles like the tunics and longer, flowy tops and leggings are flattering and comfortable for pregnant women. Warmer weather will be here soon which I found helped as well. When is your due date again? It is raining here in Nebraska with the possibility for a little snow. I’m ready for spring!

It is crazy to know that there is someone inside of you that is developing his or her physical characteristics and personality while depending on you every second. I remember feeling such a strong connection to each of my kids before they were born. Just wait until you hear their first cries, first words (mama) of course, first bad words, so many firsts to look forward to! Right now we are onto the preschool/kindergarten, sports/activity related first. I love listening to my 5 and 6 year olds read to me and playing board games with them is so much fun. Right now my two are pretending they are on the beach, wishful thinking since it is in the 30s, raining and windy.

I had the same ones, and unfortunately gave them away when I thought I wouldn’t have any more babies. And now we’re thinking of #2. Anyway, mine had the full panel and I just folded it down until I needed it. I also made the mistake of buying some Old Navy maternity pants with just the adjustable waist, and no elastic panel. They are great for the first few months, but when that belly gets heavy, that panel is soooo much more comfortable!

This is exactly how I experienced it too! Jeans were uncomfortable right away. HATED the beband. Demi panel was ok until about 20 weeks…then awful with how my belly was shaped! Fortunately I only bought 2 pairs with the demi panel.
Its funny…at 29.5 weeks I can hardly remember when my full panel jeans felt like yards of fabric…now I love them.

I agree!!! I started wearing maternity jeans around 13 weeks, and they were the damn most comfortable jeans I’d ever put on!! Even if you aren’t “showing” yet, you’re usually bloated and “fuller” in the belly area– that elastic waistband just felt SO comfortable, even that early in the pregnancy!

Gap has some really comfy maternity jeans if you want another pair!

I started out with Old Navy (elastic waist) Jeggings that up until last week were fitting okay- now my belly is a little too big for them but they were great and I still plan on wearing them with my Belly Band because they fit great in the legs. I however did invest in a pair of maternity jeans from Old Navy that I love that are full panel and I have a pair of black and kahki maternity pants that are just the band from Gap that are great as well.

I totally agree about the jeans (which look great btw!)…I waited and waited worried that I’d have to buy more than one pair but I’m still very comfortable…and I’m almost sad I won’t have a reason to wear them anymore in a couple months. 🙁 (she’s due in 3 weeks but I’m going to savor these jeans as long as humanly possible) Mine are from GAP so if you need another brand to try, head that way. Their maternity jeans are true to sizes of their regular jeans so it made shopping VERY easy. 🙂

I’m not even showing yet, but I think it’s the early pregnancy bloat that’s making me want to run to the store and buy a pair of maternity pants. I can’t wait for my first appointment to hear the heartbeat, on days when I’m feeling really great it’s hard to tell if things are still healthy and moving in there although I don’t want to wish nausea on myself, but a little reassurance would be nice 🙂

I completely agree re feeling thicker! I felt that very eary on during this pregnancy – and most certainly went in search of maternity jeans early!

for things to be cancelled we pretty much have to have snow to our knees lol But that’s just because we are very prepared in snow situations 😀

They sell maternity clothes at Kohls??? I had no idea. I agree w/ you about the jeans – I bought my first pair right when things got snug and it was so much better! Plus I had a pair of jeans once I really needed them!

You’re making me want cereal now!

That’s so crazy that you have snow, we don’t have any here up north in NYC. Hope you enjoyed the snow day 🙂

I used the same pair of maternity jeans for all three of my kids. Customglamgirl.com let’s you print sweatpants with ‘baby on board’ and your due date. The products are American apparel brand and totally great.
