The Next 12 Days

Saturday:

4AM: Alarm clock, shower, pack makeup, turn down heat, lock doors

5AM: Cab arrives

5:15AM: First snowflakes begin to fall!

5:30AM: Find out flight to DC is delayed by a few hours. Rerouted with new itinerary that has us arriving in Missoula at 9PM instead of 1PM. Lament that we will miss exploring a new town.

6AM: Set up camp

7:30AM: Romantic picnic for two.

Locate coffee + eat some breakfast snacks – a banana and half an English muffin PB&J (I was forced to share!)

9AM??: Flight to DC

1PM: Land in Missoula and check into hotel. Explore!
6PM: Locate a hip restaurant in Missoula for dinner

9AM-9PM: Airport entertainment + food.

9PM: Hopefully land!

9:30PM: Pick up rental car

10PM: Find hotel in snow + dark

11PM: Rest

Sunday:

Grocery shopping + 2 hour drive to Dillon, Montana, home of the Great Harvest Headquarters

Monday-Friday:

A week of intensive business training for opening up our store!

Thursday Night:

Our 4th night of dinner at the Lion’s Den?!

Friday:

Matt’s 28th birthday!! Find Moose Drool on tap.

Saturday:

Travel to Bozeman for a night away. Perhaps attempt snowshoeing?! Find more Moose Drool here:

Sunday:

Return to Dillon. Pick up more groceries. Do laundry at the hotel.

Monday-Wednesday:

Sandwich School. Master putting ingredients on delicious breads. Eat as much of said delicious breads as possible!

Thursday:

Return to Missoula. Prepare for 1PM flight home.

Turn into a cowgirl just before returning to Charlottesville. Kiss husband goodbye.

Almost everyone I know that’s been traveling this winter (in Europe and the US) has had at least some kind of delay or cancellation. I hope there are no more delays for you! Enjoy your time!

    My in-laws live in Montana (Helena), and we love visiting them. Snowshoeing is easy and fun! We also like the skiing (cross-country for me)!

    You haven’t even left DC yet and your trip to Montana looks like fun! 🙂

    I have an amendment to your Jan 15-16 plans. I would like to add us and recommend a snowshoe trip to Livingston, MT.

    Then grocery shopping at the Bozeman Community Coop or Rosauers. 🙂 Please do not wait and shop at the Dillon Safeway. I will send you with coolers if I have too!

    Good news: The weather here has been in the 30’s so some of the snow is melting but fresh stuff is on its way Sunday!

        We will be here. We have a speaker we want to see Saturday night in Bozeman so we hadf planned to go to town anyway. New development: we also have a friend who knows the ins and outs of the Tobacco Root mountains south of our house. We just need to rent you some snowshoes!

    Too bad you are going to miss out on exploring missoula! When you are in bozeman, I highly recommend the emerson grille. Its an awesome little restaurant tucked away in an old schoolhouse. Have fun in montana!

    I stumbled upon Biga Pizza in Missoula on a business trip. I have dreams about the Flathead Cherry pizza – housemade sausage, cherry chutney, smoked gouda, mozzarella, garlic oil & parsley.

    Have a wonderful trip. You should definitely try snow shoeing. I liked it so much on our last ski trip to Colorado that I asked for snowshoes for Christmas so I can go as often as I want on our trip this week!

    My two recommendations for the Bozeman area are Mackenzie River Pizza, especially the pesto lodgepoles! Also worth the trip is Chico Hot Springs, they are over the pass and south of Livingston. Norris Hot Springs are also close to Bozeman.
