A round up of life lately
^^ One of the last beautiful fall colored trees in Cville
I promised myself I would write a weekly lately post, and it’s been too long since my last one! I have lots of catching up to do! We are hosting Thanksgiving so there is lots to do before school gets out. And my parents are coming tomorrow! This will be their first visit to our new house, and we can’t wait for them to experience it in person.
New Family Pics
I had to share this pic of Gus right away. We sat down on the porch and he put his head right in my lap!
More family pics coming soon : )
If you need something to wear for family pics, I highly recommend this wine colored sweater I bought on Amazon. I am OBSESSED with it and might get it in more colors! It’s inexpensive and so cozy. I’m wearing a small. Also loving my LOFT jeans.
I also bought this flowy dress after seeing someone else recommend it. It’s great for fall and long-sleeve weather and comes in a dozen different colors! I bought a small. Unfortunately the white was a bit see through, so I am exchanging it for a the black with white dots!
Lastly, I finally did something I’ve wanted to do for a while now and bought the Higher Dose Sauna Blanket. They are 20% off right now! There are so many health benefits to infrared saunas, and I recently listened to the Jenna Kutcher podcast interview with the founders of Higher Dose. I was sold on the biohacking benefits. We may still put in a real sauna in the years to come (Thomas and I are both huge sauna people and have a steam one at our gym). I’ll report back if I notice any physical benefits when I start doing the infrared a few times a week. I also can’t wait to climb in it on a freezing cold snow day!
If you are a game playing family, Prime this to yourself for the holidays! We haven’t tried it yet, but I can’t wait to play.
I posted two new reels on Instagram with recipes!
Apple Spice Smoothie
The first was with Maola Milk. Maola is a local, sustainable milk brand central to the mid Atlantic region. Family farmer owned and locally produced, many of Maola farms in Virginia are located in the Shenandoah Valley.
I made an Apple Spice Smoothie with their milk plus fresh apples, apple cider, and oats (see below), and it turned out fabulous!! Spoiler alert: wait until you taste their eggnog!! See the reel video and get the recipe here!
Blue Apron Shrimp
The second reel was with Blue Apron. I talked about how I use a “cook once eat twice” meal cadence to save a lot of time. Check out that video and the shrimp recipe I made here! Plus, they gave me a sweet $200 off promo code to share – get $200 off across 6 orders—plus, your first order ships free.
I have been on a huge smoothie kick in the mornings! It has simplified my life and I feel like I’m getting such a healthy start. Thomas and I share an AG1 smoothie most days made with frozen banana, peanut butter, AG1, milk, and sometimes more spinach.
Or I’ll do a Smoothiebox blend! This one is the mango, which I love and so do the boys.
Favorite Lunch Salad
I am still not sick of this amazing salad! Orange marmalade dressing, blue cheese, chicken, candied pecans, and parm crisps! I have it at least twice a week.
Dinners have been a mix of Blue Apron and Green Chef!
Crab Stir Fry
Barrimundi with Apricot Sauce and Smoked Orzo with Swiss Chard
Sweet Potato Black Bean Enchiladas
Lunch at Pippin Hill
I had a lovely ladies lunch at Pippin Hill with my MIL and aunt Layton. We all left wanting to make this whipped feta dip at home!
Tis the season
To stock up on immunity gummies! We love the Llama Naturals brand.
Finally, I’m so proud of our budding soccer player! He went from crying on the side lines every single practice to scoring FOUR goals this season! I think it finally clicked : )
