Tears On My Pillow

The husband had to be at work at 6 this morning so I woke up at 5:15 with him. But instead of getting up to hit the gym, I read The Choice in bed for 2 hours!! I finished it, and left some tears on the pillow. I thought it was one of Nicholas Sparks’ better books (The Notebook obviously being the best

 this !
) It was so cozy under my down comforter with frost on the ground outside.

I got up and changed all the bedding (which is now in the wash) and came down to make a great bowl of pumpkin oats.

Perfection:

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, pinch salt, tsp vanilla
  • 1 tiny banana
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries
  • 2 tbsp homemade Maple Pecan Granola
  • 1 tsp shaved coconut butter
  • Spoonful Barney Butter

I had to have seconds on the Barney Butter today. At first I thought it was good, but not out of this work, but now……..wow. This stuff is just amazing. It’s the roasted, salty flavor that I love – and the crunchy almonds!! I think I’m going to have to stick with crunchy because they complete the experience for me.

Agenda: Relaxation

My house is clean, the grocery shopping is complete, my foodservice project is scheduled for Saturday and my chemistry studying for Sunday…what to do now!? I might do some yoga, go for a walk, go to the gym…..and maybe do a little Xmas shopping later today! I might also meet the husband on his break for a walk (which I did yesterday but forgot to mention the 20 minute loop we did in the cold). I also need to prep the table and make the menu’s for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps a little baking today too? Who knows!

I can’t handle sad books or movies 🙁 But I did watch the movie The Notebook and I didn’t think it was really sad. Did you consider The Notebook sad? Is The Choice sadder?

    Yeah for baking 🙂

Just wanted to say Hi! I’ve been reading your blog for about a month now and I really enjoy it. Love seeing the different foods that you choose and especially love how yummy your oatmeal variations look! I have a hard time finding books I enjoy. Few years back my aunt gave me her copy of “Three Weeks with my Brother” as part of a christmas gift…and I was hooked on Nicholas Sparks!

I am in the middle of that book now! I love Nicholas Sparks. If you haven’t read his Dear John, I highly suggest it.

I borrowed “The Choice” from my local library and read about the first 20pages or so and just couldn”t get into it the way I did with “A Walk To Remember” and “The Notebook.” Didi it really get that much better?

I also decided to be adventurous this morning and incorporated dry hot cocoa mix into my oats with a small banana on top. Oh my! Delicioso!!!!! It was like a morning candy bar! mmmmmm

    Good luck planning your menu!

I typically snuggle with a book before I go to bed…I agree the coziness factor adds to the reading experience…just finished reading One Fifth Avenue, which induces laughter rather than tears!

    Kath-

I don’t know how much you like animals, but if you like cute things you might enjoy this:

    http://www.ustream.tv/channel/shiba-inu-puppy-cam

It’s my favorite way to not-be-productive. The breeders have had this puppy cam on them since they were weaned, its been so fun to watch them grow up (soon they’ll go to their new homes). In the mornings they are most active; afternoons is nap time!
