Swimberries

My favorite part of a smoothie in a bowl is floating berries that just barely float!!

IMG_5825-2Blog

So beautiful…

berries-2Blog

This morning I dug into a double raspberry smoothie, served in a bowl with a spoon

IMG_5841-2BlogIMG_5835-2Blog

Raspberry Blast Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

Toppings included Nature’s Path Vanilla Almond granola, fresh sinking raspberries and buckwheat groats!

Tazo Awake on the side!

Other than swimming raspberries, there are really exciting things going on this morning…

that smoothie looks delicious! That’s one thing I miss being here at home instead of at my apartment in Chicago, no smoothies! I did have a question though, why do you put chia seeds in your smoothie? I usually put flax seeds in mine and i’ve been hesitant to try chia seeds just because they’re so much more expensive (living on a serious budget here…).

Question though: I noticed in the recipe for a doughboy smoothie the article stated 1 cup of rolled oats…really? In ONE smoothie? AND 2 tbl chia seeds? Is that right? 1 cup of oats sounds like a lot! Especially for only 1 cup of milk and 2 tbl of chia, since chia soaks up a lot of liquid.

    Great article!!

Silly question: Do you ever WISH you liked onions? For me, garlic = your onions. I loathe the taste and will taste it the next day! I wish I liked garlic though because it is in so many delicious foods.

I have the same issue with both garlic and onions, unfortunately. I’m convinced it’s just a compound that’s in both of them, because they both make me feel sick, even if I consume a very tiny amount- the taste not going away, headaches, stomach aches or nausea, and on really bad occasions, vomiting. I think onions are gross, but I wish I liked and could eat garlic! It’s the one problem I really have at restaurants, Whole Foods deli, etc. It’s funny to me because I voluntarily gave up wheat for a decade and that was nothing, but garlic and onions..damn!

I have heard of onion and garlic allergy before ..maybe it’s the allium that is in both?

I can see why your addicted to C’Ville Cluster! It’s so dam good! I’ve been in a fall mood and for dinner, yes dinner I am making pumpkin apple oatmeal with a LARGE sprinkle of C’ville Granola! I can’t wait!! Please periodically, like monthly, add your granola, so I can get my fix! I also bough 2 orders of Warrior Crunch Granola, so I can help Susan and other Cancer patients. Kath – I have been following your blog for a while now. . . I bought the granola from OpenSky and have not heard anything about it shipping? I have emailed OpenSky twice about it and have not gotten a response as to when they think it will ship. Any ideas? I am dying to get my hands on the granola! I bought your last Great Harvest offering witht he Panckae Mix, Granola, and Oatmeal and LOVED it. I am not very happy with OpenSky’s customer service AT ALL!

The order said it would be a few weeks for it to ship and I told you guys many times it was hand-filled and would take a while. We did the orders early and fulfilled them last week. They should be shipping soon.
