Swift Like A Golden Rabbit

Nothing like a swift 4 miles before starting the day!!

Emily and I pounded them out before the sunrise and I am SO EXCITED to have ran already!! Makes the whole day seem brighter 🙂 I really miss AM workouts!! Going to make more of an effort to do them these next 2 weeks. That time of day is my favorite and the world is just so pleasant.

For those of us in other countries where Voskos doesn’t exist, how big is a container of it? (and thereby how much yogurt would i use to equal 1/2 a container for this mix?) Thank you so much 😀

I get up at 5am every day (except Saturday) to get my workout in. I feel it helps me make better food choices through out the day knowing that I don’t want to undo my hard work with bad food! You definately have to be a morning person to adopt this healthy habit!

I wish I could get up easier in the morning for AM workouts! The idea of it seems so nice…and I know I’m going to have to start embracing them once I get up to three hour long runs in the middle of August during marathon training. But for now, I just can’t seem to resist bounding out of bed and into the kitchen for breakfast.

The oats in your overnight oats look pretty dry…do you usually stir them into the liquid to absorb some of it, or do you prefer them dry? Either way, it looks delish!

My mom doesn’t feel safe with me and morning workouts 🙁 I have to get on the school bus at 6.40 every morning, which means I’d be exercising in the dark. She’s scared for me! How do you deal with it in the winter in the morning, if it’s still dark outside? Do you just go to the gym instead?

Have a great day today! 🙂

I love the feeling of getting a morning workout in and having it done. But by mid afternoon I’m dragging since I stay up so late working. I tried it for a month and just can’t do it. So I stick to my early evening workouts and totally admire people who can get up that early and do it.

I wish I could get my bum out of bed at 5:30am! I used to do it all the time– exercising before work makes the day seem so much longer (in a good way!) I always feel refreshed after morning exercise…even if I’m half asleep while I’m doing it!

All I can manage these days is a 7:00am yoga session…but it’s better than nothing, right?!

i’ve generally not been able to do morning workouts, as i feel like i need something to eat when i get up and don’t have energy to do a workout without eating. however, if you eat, then you have to wait to digest before working out… how do you manage it? do you have something light before the workout, or do you just wait until you’re done?

I have to get up and go or I’m too hungry. Generally running is the AM workout I like best. Or a cycle class. The intensity keeps my appetite at bay. If I were to do something slow like lift weights for an hour I’d get too hungry (or I’d just need a bigger snack before).

cool- thanks for the reply. i actually ran on the treadmill before breakfast a week or so ago, while i was travelling for a work conference and knew my entire day would be sucked up with that, and it wasn’t as bad as i had anticipated! but, i totally thought that was a fluke. perhaps i should try again, as it would be great to have the workout over and done with before the rest of the day even starts!
