Surprise! Pancakes.

IMG_6982Blog

Pancake feast!!! I am always the first one up on Sundays, so I cook breakfast. Matt usually takes about an hour to fully wake up, as he should on his day off. I love to surprise him with a cheerful “Breakfast is ready!!” and he stumbles out to see what we’re having. Today – pancakes!

Banana + Salted Almond Kodiak Cakes

Topped with Wild Squirrel PB, chia and coconut.

Decaf (shhh don’t tell him it isn’t regular!)

And a sunny day to enjoy them!

What a wonderful way to wake up on Sunday. I’m the cook in the family so I cook all the meals but I would have loved to wake up to THIS feast.

I have this image in my mind of you springing out of bed at like 5am and cooking something delicious every day. I’m still in my bathrobe, drinking a smoothie from a bottle…oops!

I feel like I could make a sarcastic post called, “Surprise! Oatmeal,” haha. What would be a surprise is if we got some sunshine here in Boston :-/ Happy Sunday!

What is the difference between Kodiak cakes and regular pancakes?

Kodiak cakes are an all-in-one whole wheat pancake mix whereas regulars have to be made from scratch

I love to surprise my husband with breakfast on the weekends, too. Luckily the cat singles me out to wake up for breakfast so I’m always up first. Lately I’ve been making whole wheat waffles of insane greatness.
