Sunday Soccer

A sensational Sunday of soccer!

IMG_7365 (640x427)

Lunch was a tasting plate of things –

IMG_7357 (640x427)

A couplea fun things to dip in TJ’s PB – carrots, celery and apple

IMG_7343 (640x427)

An arugula salad on the side, which was just arugula dressed in honey and herb salt (LOVE this simple dressing!) with a chopped fig

IMG_7337 (640x427)

And a slice of Flax Oat Bran with Peach Ginger preserves

IMG_7338 (640x427)

Somehow I ended up with peanut butter all over my outfit and in strange places!?

IMG_7346 (640x427)

Sparkling bubbles

IMG_7355 (640x427)

IMG_7333 (640x427)

Dessert was a small PB cookie from Suzanne!

IMG_7361 (640x427)

Then we biked to the soccer stadium because my sister’s boyfriend, Matt’s, sister, Chelsea plays for Wake! She was able to get us in as friends of the team ; )

IMG_7366 (640x427)

No sign of her for the first half

IMG_7369 (640x427)

I used to play soccer in high school and love to watch it! It’s a shame I don’t get to more games. And a shame that I have yet to find a casual adult league to play with regularly. I do have cleats!

IMG_7371 (640x427)

There she is!!

IMG_7375 (640x427)

I think she sees me!

IMG_7377 (640x427)

Wheeee! Too bad Wake lost (although I was a neutral spectator today

Smile this !
). They might have won if Chelsea had gotten to play more!

IMG_7380 (640x427)

We’re biking to Karen’s for dinner in just a few – I’m hungry!!

I love watching soccer too! I played from the ages of 4-16, but sort of gave it up after that because my high school’s team was crap (not joking) and I took up other things… like running.. and golf. (Yay for just making myself sound old. I promise I’m only 22!)
    Looks like a fun afternoon!

Sports are fun to watch in person, but I have to admit that soccer is one of my least favorites 🙁 I think if I liked to play (or understood the game more) I’d like it more.

But any excuse to be outside is great this time of year!

I wish more people played soccer. I remember doing nothing but that for several years of my life as a kid (but growing up in Italy ..it was one of those things everybody did). Glad to have experienced that. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves even though Chelsea’s team didn’t win.

I’ve never played any kind of organized soccer–team or adult league, but it’s always been so appealing to me. I should actually learn and join a league. Even if I’m not good I bet it would be fun (and good exercise!).
