A sensational Sunday of soccer!
Lunch was a tasting plate of things –
A couplea fun things to dip in TJ’s PB – carrots, celery and apple
An arugula salad on the side, which was just arugula dressed in honey and herb salt (LOVE this simple dressing!) with a chopped fig
And a slice of Flax Oat Bran with Peach Ginger preserves
Somehow I ended up with peanut butter all over my outfit and in strange places!?
Dessert was a small PB cookie from Suzanne!
Then we biked to the soccer stadium because my sister’s boyfriend, Matt’s, sister, Chelsea plays for Wake! She was able to get us in as friends of the team ; )
No sign of her for the first half
I used to play soccer in high school and love to watch it! It’s a shame I don’t get to more games. And a shame that I have yet to find a casual adult league to play with regularly. I do have cleats!
There she is!!
I think she sees me!
Wheeee! Too bad Wake lost (although I was a neutral spectator today). They might have won if Chelsea had gotten to play more!
We’re biking to Karen’s for dinner in just a few – I’m hungry!!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
how fun! i love watching soccer…never really played it, but it’s a fun game to be a spectator at!

Looks like a fun fall thing to do. My husband played soccer in high school and misses it now too! Enjoy dinner and your friends!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
I love watching soccer too! I played from the ages of 4-16, but sort of gave it up after that because my high school’s team was crap (not joking) and I took up other things… like running.. and golf. (Yay for just making myself sound old. I promise I’m only 22!)
Looks like a fun afternoon!
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
Haha, peanut butter has a way of getting everywhere, I agree! Sounds like a great way to spend such a gorgeous day.
Chelsea @ Strawberry Sweat says
Soccer is so much fun to watch! It’s one of those sports I wish I would have played when I was younger!

Fun!! I love watching sport games…especially when you know someone who is playing. 😀
And your snacky lunch looks terrific! Love it! 😀
Sounds fun! A soccer ball is actually on my list of things to get from Target today lol.

Sports are fun to watch in person, but I have to admit that soccer is one of my least favorites 🙁 I think if I liked to play (or understood the game more) I’d like it more.
But any excuse to be outside is great this time of year!
Bess @ Bess Be Fit says
bummed my girls lost!!! I’ve had the biggest craving to go play soccer all day just thinking about them…wish I could have just gone up and put on my old uniform and showed up at the game…I’m sure no one would have even noticed I had already graduated 😉 haha…I’m so jealous you got to go and thanks for supporting Chels…love her 🙂
oh and your food looks delish, as usual!
Great picture of Chelsea! Fun!

Oh how fun! My husband played soccer for years – it can be fun to watch!
Lunch looked so good! Love plates that are popping with colour!
I wish more people played soccer. I remember doing nothing but that for several years of my life as a kid (but growing up in Italy ..it was one of those things everybody did). Glad to have experienced that. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves even though Chelsea’s team didn’t win.
Krystina (Organically Me) says
Soccer is one of the only sports that I can tolerate watching. Sounds like a nice Sunday. 🙂
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
You should get out there and play! You and Chelsea could scrimmage 😛
Sarah @ Sarah's Shaping Up says
I love soccer! We didn’t have a team in high school but I started playing in college and I’m hooked now! 🙂
How is the Great Harvest location hunt going?
Any news coming soon? 🙂
Best wishes to you and Matt!
When we have news I’ll share it 🙂

I’ve never played any kind of organized soccer–team or adult league, but it’s always been so appealing to me. I should actually learn and join a league. Even if I’m not good I bet it would be fun (and good exercise!).
Gorgeous day! I love lunches that are little samplers of all the things that I like…it makes being indecisive so much easier 🙂
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
i always liked watching soccer – esp. women’s!!!
so fun! I used to play soccer back in the day, too. Looks like it as a pretty day for it.

What a fun afternoon! I have mad props for girls who play soccer. It’s such an intense sport.
Sounds like you had fun! I love having tasting plates for lunches. It’s a great way to get a little bit of everything.
I love taster plates! One of my favorite ways to do a meal 🙂

I’m sure if you call the city you can find a league somewhere! It took me three years to finally find a good volleyball league in my new town, and now I’m on two – and love it!
For the first time ever last night, I ate a carrot with peanut butter. I’ve been averse to the idea but, wahey, it actually tastes good! I should’ve trusted the thousands of people in this world who eat carrots and pb regularly 😀
I played soccer in high school too! Totally miss it :-/. looks like the weather was great to watch a game:-)
I miss Klockner! I spent many years in those stands. It’s been so long since I’ve gone to a game there =(
