Stuffed With Lead

Howdy folks!

Right after I finished blogging, Matt and I went out on a big run. It was haaarible (as the northerners say 😉 ) I was dehydrated before we even left (and drank as much water as my stomach could hold), plus I was hot and my shorts were chafing me! We ran 2.4 miles to the Y, where I got some gulps of water, and then another 3.2 back home. Guf – glad that’s OVER! I always seem to have my worst runs with Matt too.

This lunch redeemed the day!!

Goat Cheese + Cilantro Pesto on a Flax Oat Bran Bun

Overripe pear

And a fantastic mish-mosh salad with leftover walnuts, cranberries, grilled eggplant, avocado, broccoli, cauliflour, capers, lemon, balsamic, honey and toasted croutons. Yum!

Now not only do I have lead feet, I have a bowling ball of salad in my belly!

We’re off to Davidson for Frolics and dinner at the Brickhouse!!

I always have bad runs with my husband too! I think I’m just a solitary runner at heart…!

I can’t figure out why those bad runs happen. I have tried to trace them to eating, sleeping, drinking, but have never found any strong connection. Ugh.

The good thing is that sometimes you just have those fantastic runs 🙂

I sometimes have bad runs if I don’t eat too well the day before…but it varies.
    Enjoy your day!

Sorry to hear about the tough run! I guess it just makes the next run feel that much better?

My worst runs tend to be with my boyfriend too…although it’s the only time I run with someone else, so I just like to run alone.

I hate feeling dehydrated while running…ugh! Glad you got through it anyway!

Sorry to hear about the disappointing run. Personally, I never like running with someone as much as on my own. I tend to get distracted and not run to my fullest when someone is beside me.

Great use of leftovers for lunch! I’m trying to do more of that to waste less. There’s no point in throwing out perfectly good food that could be made into something completely new the next day! 😀

Beautiful lunch! I’ve got to try making cilantro pesto. I love basil pesto and I love cilantro, but I haven’t tried making cilantro pesto. Thanks for the inpsiration!

I used to make fun of my mom all the time for saying things like “haarible” and “mirrah” oh, New Yorkers. LOL.

I’m sorry you had a rough run. I had a really good one which I wasn’t expecting since I drank and had a really long day yesterday, plus I was a little hungry before I left. Funny how things work sometimes. But the cool thing about running (or other exercise like yoga) is that you can have one not-so-good session and the next time is fantastic!

5K’s on occasion. I just can’t justify the expense to do them more often though.

    Allison Lemons,
