Strawberries, Play Pizza & Kale

Good afternoon! We are having a typical day here today – except I have a dietetic intern arriving soon! Blake will be with me part time this week and will be learning the behind-the-scenes of this particular dietitian’s job : ) Look out for a few delicious recipe posts from her too!!!

Breakfast today was back on the egg bandwagon – along with Cville crunch toast, sweet mango wedges and sweet-tart strawberries.

Mazen had pizza….aka….new favorite toy!

Given yesterday’s double soccer games, I took today off of strength class and just did a bunch of walking at the gym.

Couldn’t wait to come home to this kale Caesar I picked up at Whole Foods yesterday! Along with some Everything crackers topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Also: just restocked my LaCroix coconut!!!

ok, Blake and I have things to do : )

Are you a preceptor? If so, thank you! As a dietetics student I worry about the shortage of preceptors. As long as my place of employment allows me to do so, I plan to be one.

It would be really interesting to hear more about what Blake gleaned from you. You definitely have a non-traditional RD role.

What sorts of things will your intern being doing/learning from you? How long will their internship be? Just curious, hope it’s okay to ask!

Can you add a “view website” link that is easy to access? Some other blogs I read have it at the bottom of the home page. I scrolled down looking for one but the page just keeps scrolling… on and on. I enjoy your blog, have been reading for years, but am not enjoying the mobile format. Thanks!!

Is that OJ in Mazen’s cup? How often does he have juice?

It’s half OJ and half water and he has it a few times a week At breakfast. The only juice he gets.

I think its awesome that you are a preceptor for dietetic interns. There aren’t enough opportunities to see this side of the nutrition and dietetics field- its so exciting. I hope you two had a blast this week. Im so jealous of Blake! haha 🙂
