Sticky Bun Encore

We woke up at 7 this morning for a little exercise. I set out on foot to find the Towson YMCA, where I have free access from my Charlotte membership, but I got the address wrong and ended up just going a 30 minute power walk around Towson. ‘Twas fun! It’s like fall out there – crisp and cool.

Once back at my grandparents’ building, I poked into the workout room and joined a few people for a little elliptical time.

photo

I whirred for 26 minutes and then headed upstairs for a shower.

We were greeted by the smell of freshly baked sticky buns upon entering Gram’s apartment

I couldn’t say no so I had one over my oatmeal

 this !

IMG_0315 (640x480)

This was yesterday’s extra oatmeal topped with blueberries, smoked salted almonds and Barney Butter

IMG_0314 (640x480)

Plus a little instant coffee, which really isn’t bad at all! It was better than Starbucks for sure.

IMG_0313 (640x480)

I shared a little of my oats with my mother.

We are headed to Tuesday Morning and a few other errands this morning before we come back here for lunch in the Bistro.

Unless they have opened up a new Y in Towson in the last 1 1/2 years, you aren’t really close to it . . . as in, you would get a workout just walking/running to it and back.

At first I thought you topped your oats with smoked salt, but then I re-read and saw that the salt was on the ALMONDS. Duh. I have a big container of smoked salt that I have no idea what to do with…

I haven’t had a sticky bun in ages – an oatmeal topping is so classic, Kath 🙂

Just read the fridge post on Bobbi’s blog – love it! The fruit plate idea is a great one – much better than digging through a bowl to get to what you really want at the bottom.

    Have a great weekend!
