Soften Your Eyebrows

IMG_0262

It’s hard to chew almonds while you’re on a long conference call : ) I managed to get a snack in before yoga though, and I walked the way there while we wrapped up the call so I wouldn’t be late. Amelia, Janet and I are speaking on food literacy at BlogHer Food and were getting the ball rolling. [Public speaking gets my heart rate up – in a bad way! I’m already nervous!]

I also ate this fruit bar sent to me a long while ago. They are 100% fruit and like a combo of fruit leather and fig newton. Great when you’re really in a rush to get out the door!

IMG_0261

Yoga was fun. I can really tell I’m getting more flexible – even from the one class a week. My low squat is so much deeper now!

It’s funny – one of the things I have a big problem with is “soften your eyebrows!” I raise my eyebrows when I’m angry or when I’m trying hard to do something and every time our teacher says “soften your eyebrows” I realize mine are all scrunched up and hard! I gotta work on my face yoga : )

After a brisk walk back home, Matt and I put our leftover beans (or some of them at least!) to good use.

Dinner

Melty quesadilla!!

IMG_0267

Stuffed with cheddar and pickled jalapenos!

IMG_0275

Served with a Mexi-salad of greens in olive oil, salt and honey topped with greek yogurt and homemade guac (just avocado mashed with lemon juice, salt and pepper). Plus some little tomatoes!

IMG_0269

IMG_0271

Lemonade water to drink

IMG_0270

A delicious dinner – and tonight I finished every bite!

I have four avocados that are about to all be ripe at the same time…it’s equally awesome and terrible at the same time when that happens. I’m going to be a guac-making machine this week!

Your dinner looks very similar to mine, except I had some leftover grilled bbq pork tenderloin in my quesadilla. Yum!

Dinner looks fabulous! What type of Greek yogurt do you use in place of the traditional sour cream (full fat? plain?)? Thanks!

I buy the big tubs of Oikos Plain. It’s nonfat. Ideally I’d choose a low fat (I buy low fat when I buy regular plain yogurt) but I like the Oikos the best

Perfect quesadilla! And glad yoga was a success (and that you’re getting more flexbible!)

The opening shot of that nut jar reminds me of a post I did right before xmas with cinn/sugar/coconut oil roasted almonds. Seriously the same kind of low-wide base glass jar!

Dinner looks delicious! I actually enjoy public speaking it has taken me a while a lot of just doing it and accepting that I’m learning more and more. As long as you feel prepared with the information you are conveying it’s easier then to fake being confidence and showing up.

Yoga face! It’s crazy when you realize how much we tense up our faces, whether your eyebrows and forehead or your jaw and mouth. Yoga is so great for bringing that kind of awareness.

When I did yoga regularly I always had a problem relaxing my face. It’s amazing how much tension we can hold in such a small part of our bodies.
It’s more amazing, though, how that quesadilla looks EXACTLY like the ones I always got at Moe’s. Mmmmmmoes.

Hahaha this made me laugh! I’m always trying to sneak in some nibbles when I’m on conference calls for work. Sometimes they last such a long time and honestly it doesn’t all pertain to me so I get bored and start wondering around the kitchen looking for nibbles.

I really should get more productive and do some laundry instead because I reckon I totally could!

I drink lemon water occasionally, because I get tired of drinking plain water. Water tastes so much better when it has a little flavor to it.
