Breakfast For Two And A Half

IMG_0283

Happy Morning! Happy Hump Day! Happy Sunshine? I’m sippin’ tea on the porch before this day gets fully underway.

IMG_0284

Part I of Wednesday was a bowl full of yogurt, crumbled Morning Glory muffin (of course!) and berries with sunflower butter on top and chia seeds sprinkled throughout. Delicious!!! I can’t say how thrilled I am that berry season is here. My favorite fruit by far, although bananas are kind of a given and stone fruits a close second.

IMG_0292

Matt slept in (getting up at 6:45 instead of 6) and so we got to get up together! It’s so weird when we do that now and also weird that while we were getting the business up and running we spent all day long together everyday. I hope once the baby is here he’ll be a regular to this more relaxed schedule so we can spend more time together. Or more likely, I’ll just be up at 5 already and we’ll just get to be together super early for hours before work : )

I made him a bowl while he showered and we enjoyed them together on the porch.

IMG_0286

Have a spritely morning!

Fresh air as the secret ingredient-of course. That should be the next surprise ingredient on iron chef.

I always like that you mix it all together. You could eat a muffin, yogurt, and then raspberries but why not create a dish out of the three? Happy Wednesday.

We like our quality time together in the am too. We wake up 30 mins before the time the one who needs to be up earliest gets up (since hubs current schedule is a 5 am wake up, we get up at 430). That 30 mins is no phone, no blackberry, no emails, usually no crisis or special request from someone. We have coffee & let the morning develop – chat about our day or whatever we were just too tired to mention the day before. His job depends a lot on what other people do, so once the day “starts” I may not get more than a few sentences in before bed time. And how can you have a bad day when your first “to-do item” was quality time with your spouse?

I love berry season too! I have oral allergy syndrome, which is basically that my seasonal allergies cause lots of fruits (apples, all stone fruits, pears, etc) to give me an allergic reaction when they aren’t cooked. Berries are some of the few that don’t do it to me, so I can’t ever get enough of them 🙂

As a side note, I tried your whipped banana oatmeal this morning and it was fantastic. I’ll never go back to normal oatmeal again!

I put raspberries on my oatmeal every morning. Frozen to be exact. Sometimes I buy them frozen, and sometimes I freeze them myself, but there is just something extra delicious when the frozen raspberries begin to melt. Plus they add an extra Crunch!
