You and your friends hang out at the gym too, right?! I am so thankful for the group of friends that I have made at ACAC. Exercising for us isn’t just about burning calories – it’s about laughing together before class begins, sharing a smile during the biceps set when a good song comes on, sneaking a glimpse of the kiddos dancing together in ABC Conditioning, and making weekend plans while foam rolling. And as a bonus we all get more fit!

Good friends are like good socks: you don’t get as good of a workout without them.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Bombas socks are athletic-leisure socks, re-engineered to look better, feel better, and perform better, and with a mission to help those in need. I have been wearing Bombas since my first post about them in 2014 and can vouch that they are still the athletic socks I reach for first. Socks seem to be overlooked when it comes to workout gear, however, I’ve learned what a difference high-quality socks can make. If your feet aren’t happy, your whole body isn’t happy!

Since gym friends are a great resource for recommendations on the best workout gear around, Bombas sent me a box of their socks in all shapes and sizes to share with my friends. The styles included No-Shows, sporty ankles, crew length, and long merino wool pairs. My friends were happy to get a new pair of socks in exchange for being my foot models and sock testers.

My friends loved the colors and design off the bat and thought the “bee better” text hidden on the inside was super cute. I’ve had several friends tell me they are the “best socks ever” and they want to order more. Everyone loved the ankle socks, and the guys in particular loved the longer styles.     I remember watching Bombas on Shark Tank! I don’t remember if someone funded their company.

    I’ve never heard of Bombas before. I definitely agree that socks can make or break your workout. I’ve gone on runs with socks that should have been tossed away and it results in droopy socks and blisters ????

    This is the cutest!! I love all of the fun you’re having at the gym! I agree that friends make all the difference with working out…there’s no way I would have kept up with year round swimming for so long if I didn’t have the community.

    are they really good for workouts? I’ve also lived by the rule that cotton is not allowed for sweaty activities and you need something wicking…. do you use them for high-sweat activities like running?

    Not sure if anyway has any advice..I recently started getting back into working out again after too many years off..when I was pregnant with my daughter two years ago I had really bad nerve pain in my groin area shooting down my thigh..it went away after she was born but every time I exercise its back! So painful but I need to exercise! Anyone have experience with this??

      It sounds like Sciatica and I would definitely see a doctor for it. Pregnancy can still affect your body two years down the road and if you want to exercise better to fix it now than injure it. 🙂 Good luck.

        It sounds like it could be pelvis instability syndrome. Find a good physical therapist, they can show you exercises to strengthen your pelvis. I thought I had sciatica with my first pregnancy but it was pelvis instability syndrome. Sadly it gets worse with each pregnancy and the pain/discomfort starts sooner.
