Snips + Jumps

Mazen and I had SUCH a fun morning together!!

Foodblog-5286

I started the day with a special breakfast – baked banana oatmeal plus walnuts and chocolate chips. I prepped all the ingredients the night before so it was quick to pull it together first thing.

Foodblog-5287

My bananas turned a little brown, and I took it out of the oven too early so it collapsed a little on me, but Mazen and I gobbled it down!

Foodblog-5288

The first stop in our day was Target to empty my wallet of all its dollar bills.

Then we went to Snip-Its for a much-needed hair cut! Love putting a little styling product in there at the end : )

Foodblog-50

After his haircut (which went sooo smoothly this time!) we went for a special treat to visit the new Jump Cville trampoline park! Wed – Friday mornings are “Jumping Beans” time for littles. While there were wild big kids around, it wasn’t too crowded and they were very mindful of M.

Foodblog-30

We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it was a tie which one of us had the most fun : )

We had an amazing time @jumpcville this morning!

A video posted by Kath Younger, RD (@katheats) on Jan 28, 2015 at 12:09pm PST

The foam pit was a huge hit too! We jumped in and climbed out to repeat about 10 times. Talk about a workout! Wear your sports bras ladies : )

Foodblog-39

Jumpy jump!

Foodblog-31

Our final stop was the bakery for lunch where I had a salad with pimento cheese and tofu and M enjoyed a PB&J dipped in my balsamic dresssing. Ew!

I  left him playing trains in his room, and he’s now climbing into his bed for a nap!

Happy Jump Hump Day!

OMG little man’s hair looks so adorable! My son is not keen on the whole jumping thing yet. Maybe this year, now that he’s three, we’ll give it another shot. That salad looks delish!

This is one of the cutest posts! First the baked oatmeal is one of my faves and it looks like you found an awesome flavour combo! Mazen’s with his haircut is way too much cute to handle! I took my niece to a trampoline park recently and boy did I get a workout! Was not expecting that one!

I have the same tracks and agree – so complicated! I don’t have Dylan in a toddler bed yet but so curious how you do this – you just leave him in there playing and say, “ok go take a nap” and a bit later he actually does??! amazing!

We call it “Quiet Time” and he gets to play with whatever he wants in his room, but he usually gets sleepy and gets in his bed and sleeps for 2 hours! I have no idea how we got on this pattern, but it is quite amazing. I will say that half of the time he cries when I leave but after a few minutes he finds a toy and is OK.

That is amazing! So has he ever opened the door or do you have a lock/gate? My son is quite good at opening his door, so like I said in my last comment, I fear for the day we have to make the big boy bed transition! 😉

That airport gives me an anxiety attack. My son can’t put it together yet so he constantly brings it to me to put together and then gets if I don’t put it together exactly the way he wants it. It makes me happy to see Mazen playing with it so well. It gives me hope!

Mmmm, I haven’t made baked oatmeal for awhile. I used to love making a batch with blueberries and coconut, then freezing individual squares for a quick and easy breakfast later. I love them to eat out of hand once thawed when I’m on the go, or else rewarmed in a bowl. Yum! Thanks for the reminder.

Cjump looks awesome! Wish we had something like that here in Maine. It’s been so cold the kids are going stir crazy. The closest thing we have is a bounce house park at a YMCA 45 mins away. They have 4 different obstacle course style bounce houses inside. It’s pretty good winter fun. And yes, quite a workout for mom!

Ok, I have to know…do you think twice about all of the foam pieces and how “germy” they are? We have one of these places by our house, much older and “seasoned”. I cringe on the inside, each and everytime my kids jump in those things. They usually shower and change their clothes when we come home – mainly to appease me. I know how sweaty my kids are, let alone the rest of the world jumping in there. It just gives me the heeby jeebies…

Well half the time he puts up a fight, but he is pretty happy playing with his toys. I do mix up the toys and sometimes when he cries I bring out something he hasn’t seen in a while and then he’s totally content.
