Sniff Sniff

As many times as you guys have commented that you wish you could smell the computer screen, BE GLAD YOU CAN’T! This girl needs a shower stat!!

My morning escaped me as I got a bunch of work done –

  • Booked our honeymoon anniversary accommodations in Asheville for Memorial Day weekend!
  • Balanced the hypothetical checkbook for the month and transferred savings + retirement funds (= took a whole hour!)
  • OpenSky. Nuff said!

I looked at the clock and our gym departure had come and gone! It was lunchtime!

IMG_1738 (640x427)

But I knew if I ate a normal lunch I wouldn’t make it to the gym until late afternoon and wanted to shower before my pedicure but then didn’t want to shower twice, so I decided to have a snack – a date – (not much of a snack, but I wasn’t quittte ready for lunch yet) and we were off around 12:45.

IMG_1740 (640x427)

Bike –> 26 minutes of stairmaster –> 5 minutes of lifting –> Bike –> STARVING!

Instant blood replenishment. No time for a shower first!

IMG_1741 (640x427)

I quickly assembled a plate of nourishment:

IMG_1753 (640x427)

Leftover wheatberry salad from last night’s dinner. Both in bowl form and stuffed into my last tortilla (those lasted a long time!) Toothpick worked great to hold it together! I also spread a Laughing Cow cheese in there

IMG_1750 (640x427)

IMG_1754 (640x427)

Livin’ Spoonful pesto pumpkin seed cracker. SO GOOD! We also lowered the price on those a bit to be more competitive. They’re still not your typically priced cracker, but they’re also made with lots of fancy stuff, so the price is reflective of the ingredients.

Also note the Jalapeno Food Should Taste Good chips crumbs!!

IMG_1752 (640x427)

Dessert! I was going to slice it up like I always do but I thought it would be fun to just eat out of hand. It was!

IMG_1749 (640x427)

IMG_1747 (640x427)

It is so lush here!

IMG_1758 (640x427)

IMG_1760 (640x427)

Matt grew our jasmine plants from SEEDS 3 years ago! Look at them now

IMG_1761 (640x427)

If you look closely you can see a bird’s nest in the jasmine!!

IMG_1764 (640x427)

He was coming out to plop down two of his sardine salad crackers – on Old London Cheddar Bagel toasts – yummmmm!

IMG_1763 (640x427)

Going to shower ASAP and then head out for my pedicure!!!

Beautiful jasmine! That’s worth another sniff-sniff. 🙂 It doesn’t survive the winters here, but I’m trying honeysuckle and clematis. Not from seed though, which makes yours doubly amazing!

Oh, pedicures, I seriously need one of those!
I hate it when I get hungry at the end of a workout and feel like I have to grab food ASAP when I get back, but your lunch looks delicious and well balanced anyways, very nicely done!

Without reading the text, I scrolled through these pictures first and came to the “date” for about 2 minutes trying to figure out what it could possibly be…a bug?, I thought. No, can’t be a bug….then I though maybe its not food after all and eventually I read and then..I found out.

    ….andd thats my story.

What a lovely lunch! Dates are full of sugar for quick energy but I’m sure the lack of protein could make you crash fast! It’s good that you re-fueled so well! Have a great pedicure and evening!

    thank you!

I love the smell of jasmine in bloom – we have it at my parents’ place too. No birds’ nests, though! Enjyo your pedicure… I just had toe surgery yesterday, which is pretty much the opposite… 😛

Ours took a summer of near-death before it revived. They are pretty much in direct sun. Perhaps on an angle though. Maybe water them more?
