Snap Crackle Pop

I woke up late today dreaming some crazy dream about a group of bloggers doing ballet and being chased out of a warehouse by the police.

You can guess who was the ringleader of the trouble in my dream!

Waking with a jolt and realizing it was sunny and I’d overslept reminded me of being young.

Which reminded me of cereal.

And a craving was born!

Snap, crackle, pop:

Cereal with milk, new millennium style ; )

Cereal Remix

  • 2/3 cup brown rice crisp cereal [Erewhon brand I got with a coupon ages ago]
  • 1/3 cup Peanut Butter Panda Puffs
  • 1/3 cup dry muesli oats
  • Strabs
  • Banana
  • Ground flax
  • ~1 cup milk
  • Naturally Nutty PB on top

It was delicious AND filling!!

Hot + steamy tea

Sadly no OJ, side of milk, cantaloupe or eggs to go with this complete cereal breakfast –

IMG_6679Blog

We have multiple meetings today (so much for taking a day off of the bakery!) but we should have excellent weather and dinner plans to balance it out.

Mmm that looks like a good start to your day. I can never seem togive my bowl of oats for cereal so I tend to end up snacking on cereal to get my fix!

I love cereal but I’m always hungry 20 minutes later now matter how much I bulk it up! Maybe I just need warm foods (oats or eggs) to feel satisfied in the morning.

We are having lovely weather today too and I can’t wait to get outside!

There’s NOTHING better than strawberries and a dollop of peanut butter to make cereal taste even better 🙂

I’m a huge fan of yogurt, berries and pb as well.

Good luck with your meetings and yay for excellent weather!! It’s about time right??

HOW FUNNY! I have dreams about bloggers all the time — actually, last night I dreamt that I was driving a sweet antique car when I saw a KERF sign! So I convinced all my friends to go eat at your restaurant (???) where you made us pancakes. They were great, by the way 🙂

Cereal is an at-home treat for me. Every time I come home from college, I have a big bowl at breakfast.

We eat cereal almost everyday. Sometimes we switch it up and have eggs and toast. But the majority of the time it is cereal. Cereal always fills me up, and staves off the hunger pangs I would have by 10:30AM if I did not have breakfast, which is not very often. I have to eat something in the morning, or I have a headache before noon.

I think you mentioned something recently about how flax needs to be ground for maximal nutritional benefits, is that correct? I have been eating whole flax seeds in my oatmeal for a while, is that a bad thing? Could I grind them with a simple mortar and pestle or do I need a food processor? Thanks!

That is correct. I think a coffee grinder is best – I haven’t tried grinding them by hand. You can definitely still enjoy them whole, but ground is how you absorb the most healthy fat
