You are here: Home / Lifestyle / Simple Friday.

August 12, 2011

Simple Friday.

We are both pretty tired from the week, so tonight was about relaxing and unwinding. Our house is so much calmer when we have the windows open and the crickets chirping. I love AC, but I love fresh air more.

IMG_5569-2Blog

I accomplished so much at the bakery today, and my home to-do list is quite short, so I’m feeling pretty organized! Matt is too – although he’s already in BED!

I worked all afternoon and at 5:30 realized I was starving. Bread to the rescue! Topped with a schmear of almond butter –

IMG_5558Blog

A little cleanage, some penny counting and I slipped out a few minutes early to bike home and make dinner

IMG_5559-2Blog

And by “make dinner” I mean chop a few veggies and heat up soup!

IMG_5568-2Blog

Karen brought over this soup last week and we saved it for a night when we needed an easy dinner. It’s turkey + wheatberry made from one of our Great Harvest Frontier Soup mixes. Not bad! Topped with some melted manchego. [Coral bowl is from a boutique in charlotte, nc!]

IMG_5570-2Blog

I made salads on the side – lettuce, cuc, tomato, pepper and more cheese

IMG_5571-2BlogIMG_5564-2BlogIMG_5563-2Blog

And now it’s time to crown America’s Favorite Dancer! ALL DAY I’ve been avoiding the media in fear someone would ruin the So You Think You Can Dance finale. I didn’t even blog about it in fear someone would obnoxiously spoil it! Now I’m signing off my computer and going to watch in suspense!!

I honestly can’t get over the colour of that tomato. I stopped eating them because mine were always white and mealy inside.

Love all the colors in the salad, and I agree with the AC. I couldn’t live without AC, but fresh air is so so nice!

Although I don’t watch SYTYCD I know exactly how you feel when it comes to season finale spoilers. I’ve watched Hell’s Kitchen for the past 5 seasons and I remember once I didn’t get around to watching the finale until a week later. I had to tell everyone I knew not to tell me who won. I couldn’t even read my trashy gossip magazines for that time in fear that I would see an article featuring the winner. 😛

I once went for two weeks with successfully avoiding an Amazing Race season finale spoiler. I had to avoid co-workers, magazine covers at the grocery store, all daytime and evening talk shows, and website headlines and blogs. I still can’t believe I pulled it off!

The bakery looks so inviting, even with a mop bucket being pushed through the middle of it.
