You are here: Home / Weekend / Shrinking List Saturday??

Shrinking List Saturday??

Is is Saturday!?!? I’m so confused about what day it is with the husband home and spring break and all. I am getting lots done today – cleaning, papers, workout. I LOVE crossing things off a list 🙂 (And if you like online gadgets like me, check out ToDoist.com – one of my favorite organizational toys!)

We went for a long run today – 5.5 miles – and my legs are feeling it! I was freezing cold before we left and had to warm up somehow, so I got under the covers for a few minutes with my workout clothes. Of course the camera is never out of reach 😉

dsc07204.JPG

After our run we played with the neighbor’s dog for a while (you should see the husband race him across the yard!) I took some photos while they played – check out how vicious they both look!

dsc07208.JPG

For lunch I had a delicious panini-style sandwich with Smart Deli ham, sharp cheddar, mustard and jalapeños. I cooked it in a skillet with a cast iron skillet on top. Crunchy and perfect!

dsc07213.JPG

Platter of fresh strawberries, pear and some carrot sticks with lemon-yogurt hummus (which the husband really likes! Yay!)

dsc07215.JPG

And I tried an Oikos Vanilla yogurt. The flavor was just OK. I’m not a big fan of this kind of vanilla – maybe it’s French vanilla? I like vanilla bean flavor much more. The texture of this was great though, so I’ll definitely give the plain a try soon.

dsc07212.JPG

My tiny spoon and tiny fork (for the fruit 8) ) Both are Crate + Barrel.

From above –

Lunch was about 580 kcal, 12 grams fiber and 36 grams protein (lots from yogurt).

A big shout-out to the DAVIDSON WILDCATS for making it to the second round of the NCAA!!!!!!!! The husband has been yelping and hollering from the couch and drinking beers (well, only 2) for the past 2 hours.

I love how you are freezing and hubby is wearing shorts – my hubby and I are the SAME way. Guys are heat machines!

Lunch looks great – what kind of bread is that?

GAH! Davidson winning just upset a few of my brackets! Gonzaga is close to where I went to College, so I had to pick them for the majority of my brackets!

Congrats to Davidson…my husband is going to be so mad! 😉

GO DAVIDSON!!! I picked them in my bracket (basically because you went there and I pick my brackets based on random things like, oh, I kind of know someone here, or whatever) and I don’t think anyone else in my pool did, yay! So, thanks 🙂 Although I have to admit I do have them losing the next round to Gtown…

Anyway, Kath I have to say I just love your comforter set on your bed!! Do you remember where you got it? I’ve been looking for a new one for the longest time!!

    Happy Easter!

I was inspired by your little green spoons to buy some myself – I went with the white condiment spoons (the only fun color they had was blue which clashes with the rest of our dishes) and have been looooving them with my little dish of heated pumpkin as a snack and even with my oatmeal in the morning – I have been a SUPER fast eater my whole life and have only just been able to retrain myself to eat slower and actually enjoy and taste my food! These spoons definitely help in the effort! Thanks for the great idea.

Are the green spoons the stoneware ones or the porcelain? Mine are porcelain which has a lovely smooth texture but I feel like they’re a little more fragile! (sorry for the lengthy post – who knew one could talk so much about spoons!)

My BF races our dog (lab) alllll the time…it’s hilarious. And when she beats him (which, of course, she always does) he gets a combination of pissed/proud…pissed that he didn’t win and proud that she’s so fast. (Yes, we are obsessed with our dog and no, I’m not ashamed to admit that!)

Jill ~ I’m reading “Garlic and Sapphires” by Ruth Reichl and loving it! It reads quickly and the food descriptions are amazing…I can’t put it down! Also, I loved “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” and definitely recommend it as well.

Ann, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle is fantastic but I have to say I HATED Garlic and Sapphires, the entire book felt like she was just bragging about her life and her writing and how popular and well-connected she was. I found her so obnoxious!

hahahaha-i’m ALWAYS cold too, so i really understand. I’m at my parents right now and they always keep the house so cold, so I live there with a blanket constantly wrapped around my legs. I’ve sat at the dinner table like that!

    rhodeygirl ,
Yes, I am a baby about coldness. But give me 100* heat and I’m happy as pie!

    Kelly T,
Thanks Kelly! I love pretty things. It’s hard not to go buy out Pottery Barn, but I have to say my wedding registry there might have been the highlight of 2007!

    Melissa ,
The comforter set is from Pottery Barn (wedding present 🙂 ) so unfortunately it was last spring’s line and is no longer in the store/catalog. I’m sure you could find similar though!

    katieb ,
I’m a fast eater too so I love small utensils!! Mine is pretty smooth so I think it is porcelain. And I have 2 so they do appear quite often (we don’t wash dishes that much… 🙂 )

    Emily W.,
That would be Crate + Barrel (surprise, surprise!) from last spring’s line.

    Tsbrown ,
OH my gosh to-do lists save my life. I have so many things to remember to do (school work, social life, household, etc.) that I would never remember if I didn’t write them down. I love Todoist because I am constantly making changes and it’s always available online whether I’m home or not. I have it on my iGoogle homepage. And I LOVE the color-coding 😉 I have a different color for my personal life, errands, and all my courses. Yes, I am a nerd.

I’ve been buying the Oikos vanilla flavor lately. I agree that the texture is really good. I like to spruce it up with a little honey stirred in. Yummy!
