Short + Sweet + Crunchy

Nothing exciting to report!

  • I think I was over-prepared for my MET exam today – always a good thing! It went well.
  • I got some good work done during Nutr. Education time because class was made optional to work on projects.
  • MNT was informative and interesting as always.

Afternoon snacks packed. Lunch kept me full all afternoon and I ate the grapefruit at 5PM and wasn’t hungry for the bar.

During our 6:15 MNT break I ate my dinner – a romaine + veggie + almond salad (so easy to grab + go!) topped with a slice of ED&BV Lentil Pie and some leftover Newk’s dressing.

By the time I got home at 8:15 I was ready for an evening snack. And hungry for carbs! Enter new box of cereal sent as a sample from Erewhon.

IMG_0032 (480x640)

I don’t think I’d rely on this as a breakfast cereal due to being low in fiber and protein relatively speaking, but as a snack it was perfect.

With soymilk. Loved the slightly sweet flakes. They reminded me of cereals from my childhood in a comforting way. It tasted crunchy and delish.

A second smaller bowl was required to finish off my milk and hunger!

Tomorrow I am looking forward to finishing off two small projects that have been hanging over me while I was busy with Metabolism studying and then I’m packing for San Francisco and headed to one final class before the weekend officially begins!

I am so tired from this long day and ready to go climb in bed!

That cereal is reminding me of Special K with Berries, which I love!

I am on a total kick of having a small bowl of cereal before bed as my ‘dessert’, which will probably be the case tonight as well.

    Get some good sleep dear!

Yay for being over-prepared! Isn’t that just the best feeling?

I used to crave carbs after tests as well; I wonder if it has something to do with the mental exertion?

Way better to be over prepared than under.

I totally reach for cereal as a snack more than a meal. I actually had my Kashi sample with some greek yogurt for a snack today.

I love cereal as a snack! You’re right, it’s not always satisfying enough for a meal. It’s also gone so fast too. Perfect for snacking though!

I really appreciate how you always seem to listen to your hunger cues and not eat the extra snack even though you’ve got it packed and there with you during the day- sometimes I forget intuitive eating!
