Seeking Shade

Beach time is going well

 this !

But I DO very much wish we had one of these umbrellas. I love the beach, but I do not like sun enough to absorb all the UV rays. My skin is already 3x darker with SPF 50! Might go seek out one of those tent awnings this afternoon…

Matt and I went on a nice walk – about 2 miles – after breakfast and then jumped waves for another 20 minutes before settling down with our books.

We are all frantically trying to read 500 pages for the book club! Didn’t know how long this book was when we assigned it!

IMG_0120 (640x480)

We all came in for lunch around 1PM. The house is so cool and shady!

IMG_0121 (640x480)

IMG_6476 (640x427)

I made a big salad with colorful veggies, avocado, hummus and Garlic Gold as dressing.

IMG_6478 (640x427)

Plus a side of Great Harvest bread with a thin layer of Nuttzo PF

IMG_6477 (640x427)

And a nectarine!

IMG_6479 (640x427)

I look forward to lunch all day but it comes and goes so quickly 🙁

IMG_6473 (640x427)

Had a couplea these for dessert

IMG_6483 (640x427)

Might stay indoors till the peak of the sun is gone before heading out for bocci ball and frisbee.

Do you like the Nuttzo PF better than the original? I just tried it this weekend, and I think I like the peanut version better.

I like the chia seeds SO much that it’s a toss up. I also like the hazelnuts in the PF. But original is so very good too!

So cute that you and your sis look so much alike already…and then have near-matching bathing suits!

(And yes, your husband-Matts are strikingly similar as well. Crazy! People must think two sets of siblings have married, which does happen).

    🙂

You and Larbs reading the same book in practically the same bathing suit! Cute!

Have you ever tried getting up to make yourself a mocktail in the middle of your meal? I always do that or take a quick bathroom break in the middle of my meals. It helps me register my level of hunger and it makes the meal last longer!

The sun here is too harsh for me. I have Casper skin and it’s a good thing I like being so fair-skinned, because exposure to the rays quickly turns me into a sun-dried tomato. Though reading on the beach sound like fun! But not as fun as swimming in the waters! I love playing in the water!

I do love summer and soaking up *some* sun but it’s just crazy this week! It apparently hit 108 today in DC, which is really unusual for us, and I’m feeling exhausted after walking around for an hour or so.

you can rent umbrellas I think…you can call ahead and have them set it up for you infront of your house. 🙂 enjoy the beach…pina coladas at the tiki bar are amazing! homemade mix…yummy. Deck house is a good fish restaurant… and if you want a splurg go get a squiggly. 🙂 If you haven’t been to those places of course. 🙂
