Season’s Eatings

Happy Christmas to those of you stopping by today!

I think this was perhaps the latest Christmas morning we’ve ever had. We had a lovely brunch at 11AM and then opened presents afterwards and are just now finishing up! When we were younger we were never allowed to start opening presents at 5AM like some families do – we always had to wait until my parents got up around 7 or 8. Today mom and dad were up before we all were!

I woke up around 8:30 and ended up taking a shower before coming down and having some coffee while we prepared brunch. I was surprised I was able to make it to 11 without anything formal to eat. I did nibble from the fruit salad and sipped my cup of coffee, so that helped 🙂

Lillian says a Christmas hello!

Too many cooks in the pot!

IMG_1881 (640x427)

IMG_1883 (640x427)

Brunch was delightful –

Mom’s cinnamon coffee cake

IMG_1887 (640x427)

Fruit salad

IMG_1888 (640x427)

Matt A’s cheesy scrambled eggs

IMG_1893 (640x427)

Turkey Snausages

IMG_1903 (640x427)

Great Harvest buttered toast

IMG_1907 (640x427)

Smoothie Girl Deb’s Pecan butter with peach preserves

IMG_1896 (640x427)

I had some tea with brunch so as not to overload with caffeine

IMG_1897 (640x427)

IMG_1900 (640x427)

I had some of everything (‘cept snausage cause I don’t really care for meats at breakfast)

It was all so delicious!

IMG_1909 (640x427)

Plus some OJ my mom put at each place

IMG_1908 (427x640)

Then it was gift time

IMG_1918 (640x427)

IMG_1919 (640x427)

Kanz’s were wrapped in bears!!

IMG_1924 (427x640)

And he got a new OUTFIT for our bears!

IMG_1930 (427x640)

Santa my have a partnership with Delta because I got BISCOFF for Christmas!!

IMG_1925 (427x640)

IMG_1926 (640x427)

I got some wonderful gifts – a Yogitoes towel, the Wicked CD, a Davidson running hat and cooking measurements kitchen towels 🙂

IMG_1935 (427x640)

A book I’ve been wanting to read

IMG_1937 (640x427)

And this awesome/hilarious running top from Matt’s dad and Cheryl that has half gloves, a hood…

IMG_1938 (427x640)

And a PONYTAIL HOLE!!

IMG_1939 (427x640)

The bear theme continued with some bear PJs and this awesome sleep mask!!

IMG_1943 (427x640)

We got my dad those gloves with the fingers missing so he can read and walk with his magazines in cold weather!

IMG_1941 (427x640)

It’s pouring rain here and we’re all cozy inside. I might lead the group in a space-heater hot yoga class from YogaDownload and there will be lots of reading and relaxing until Christmas dinner tonight.

Hope you guys are surrounded by those you love 🙂

What a yummy looking brunch! Love the cheese-y eggs and fruit salad 🙂 It looks quite a bit healthier than my family’s annual GIANT cinnamon roll tradition, hehe.

Merry Christmas! I always wondered what those holes were for on my shirts- my arms are short so they never reached them! I love the ponytail hole. I’ve had a weight lifting book for a year and I have yet to open it because I’m not a fan of lifting weights, but hopefully I’ll make that my new year’s resolution.

    Kath,

I have that sleep mask! I just got it at Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It is the best sleep mask I have ever had- it keeps ALL the light out and the little bubbles around your eyes make it feel like you aren’t even wearing a mask! I hope you enjoy it and get lots of refreshing sleep after the sun comes up!

I really love that book. Not just for the lifting guides & program but also for the general weight loss and nutrition info in the first half. Plus, the author is entertaining and his advice makes a lot of sense.

Nutrition wise and cardio wise, I wasn’t impressed, but it is a weight lifting book, so the good weight lifting info is what matters the most. Enjoy the book!
