The rain is coming down
I emailed Kelsey last night to see if she wanted to go to EarthFare for lunch and we decided to do a potluck lunch. It certainly takes the sting out of having to pack a lunch when you know there will be other parts coming!
Here’s our spread:
I brought GH Flax Oat Bran Buns and Kerrygold cheese and she brought Crazy Pumpkin Bean Dip and Cabbage Slaw and another cheddar to make sandwiches. The Crazy Pumpkin Bean Dip was really good –but really strange! It had “all of the above flavors” in it.
She brought carrots; I brought Food Should Taste Good Lime Chips!
And I brought strawberry salad with flax + honey. It looks gross but tasted good
We had leftovers and I nibbled my way through more dip, more strawberries and the rest of my chips (which I had planned to save for Foodservice)
1 class, 1 test to go and it’s home free till the weekend (sans Food Science Lab on Friday…)
Love love love your lunch!
what a fun idea I may have to start doing that with one of the girls at work!

YUM – Cabbage Slaw!!!
Haven’t had that in AGES!
At my work they’ve been trying to do somewhat regular pot lucks but they turn into a weird mix of not so great stuff… and someone always brings a KFC family meal… blech!
Yours looks much better. 🙂
your lunches always look so much better than mine!

Love the potluck idea! I need to find a buddy to do those with at school!
Great lunch! I love doing potluck lunches with friends. A friend of mine used to bring her dog to the park across the street from my work and we’d have potluck lunchs! Looks delish.

I have to say, I am missing my Great Harvest bread. I can’t find one near where we are living now. 🙁
Have you ever tried the brand Yes to Carrots? I have a really fun contest going on right now for a chance to win a gift set of their products. Prize aside tho, the message is pretty cool too, if I do say so myself – I am asking the question “If you had a billboard over your head, what would it say?” Fun!
Check it out here if you get a chance: http://livewell360.com/2009/03/what-would-your-billboard-say-contest/
Take care, and welcome home!

Good luck on your test!
Food spread looks amazing, particularly the Cabbage slaw!
Hey check it out, Barney Butter is giving away free samples! I’ve never had any and can’t find it in stores around these parts (is it only available online??)
Thought I’d share! 🙂
Where can you get Food Should Taste Good’s Lime Tortilla Chips? Did they just come out with these? My local Whole Foods only carries the seven flavors on their website.
Yay! Free Barney Butter! Thanks for the info, Alison!
I’ve been wanting to try it for so long!
Sweeeeeeet! Thanks for the link!
I believe they are so new they’re not out yet. But should be out soon!
Makes my salad that I enjoyed so much seem very plain.
Hope the test goes (went?) well!
Oh, and thanks Alison for posting about the Barney Butter!
Love the idea of strawberries with flax and honey. I also really like strawberries with a touch of honey and balsamic vinegar — you marinate it for an hour or so. I fell in love with this dish in Italy!
