Plumfounded

Because I already used Plum Struck as a title

 this !

Foodblog-4407

Doubled up on plums today!

Foodblog-4405

I went to the grocery store this morning – maybe my last time ever as a single gal !? – and stocked up on tons of staples. I had very little produce in my cart – saving that for the markets – but filled up on cheese, milk, yogurts, pantry items, pasta, frozen salmon and more.

Foodblog-4402

I put the cheese + whole wheat tortillas to good use right away! Oozing out goodness.

Foodblog-4404

Served alongside some leftover veggies – for nutrition, not taste today. #firsttrimestermemories

Foodblog-4403

Anyone have any fun weekend plans!? My plan is to have a baby. But we all know the best-laid plans…: )

Having a baby would be such a great weekend activity! We have a fairly low key weekend. A little bit of teaching for my hubby then some visiting with friends, some church, some gameroom home reno project stuff.

Wow that lunch looks amazingly delish! I am at work for lunch 5 out of 7 days a week and need to add some variety to my boring sandwiches or salads. I need to find some good options that are easy for transport and can be eaten raw or warmed up in a microwave without getting soggy or blah. I wish I had this today for lunch. Instead I’m going to grab something out and not only eat a million calories, but spend money too! I think I should by some tortillas this week as well. There are so many things you can do with them!

Speaking of babies (and I hope you have yours this weekend), tomorrow is the baby shower I planned for my brother’s girlfriend. She is having a girl and I have been so busy this week getting last minute stuff together. So much work, but it will be worth the look on her face! Off to make strawberry brownies!

Strawberry cake mix (Pillsbury brand works best)! Take one box, dump it into a bowl and add 1/3 cup oil and two eggs. The batter will be thick. Like scarily thick. Don’t panic! Put it into a 9 by 13 inch pan and bake at 350 for 14 minutes. When brownies are warm, smother with a powdered sugar glaze (one cup powdered sugar and a tablespoon or so of milk). I can’t take the credit. I found the recipe on Pinterest! (And they were a hit at the shower!)

Kath, you did it so well! Thanks to share all your pregnancy adventure. You really made me excited on being a mom. I can’t wait to have my own baby.
You made it so fun yet real. I learnt a LOT!.

I even told my boyfriend all about you being pregnant and how I felt like it was my friend that was about to give birth! Creep alert! Haha 🙂 But really though, I hope you have a comfortable, peaceful, and joy-filled [well, as much as those things you can achieve while giving birth!] birth and that your little baby boy is brought into the world in a happy environment!

I’m so excited for you! I remember when I was close to the end of my pregnancy, my friend told me how jealous she was that I was about to go through the labor experience. I remember thinking she was crazy because I was so nervous. But after having 2 babies, I know exactly what she means now! I, too, am jealous of the amazing things you will soon experience! It will be the best day of your life. My son turns two on Sunday (26th!) Hope our sons can share a birthday. 🙂

Love that you are planning to have a baby this weekend. Saying it that way is too cute! So excited for you. I will actually become a “mom” of sorts next week. Not quite like you. But my husband and I are hosting a high school student from China. She arrives Monday and stays with us through mid-June.

I’m just going to make sure you do this right… do NOT have an only child. It ends horribly for everyone. Congrats, I’ve been waiting forever to know when you’re having your baby. I swear it seems like you’re 11 months pregnant I’ve been waiting so long. My aunt is already half way through her pregnancy right now and I’ve been reading shortly before she was pregnant.

I am an only child. I’d be hard pressed to find anyone who said it ended horribly. Do I wish I had siblings? Oh sure. But, it’s kind of insulting to 1) tell someone else how many children they should have and 2) saying that being an only child ends horribly.
