We had a great visit with the grandparents last week – Grammie and Pea were here over the weekend, and then Mimi and Papa extended the birthday celebration for the rest of the week. (And KK is coming later this month!)
Their first night here we made meatballs – this recipe – along with a mix of green beans and zucchini and toasted bread (that was still in the toaster when I snapped this!)
Papa and Mimi play hard, and Mazen was on
cloud bubble 9.
Given their medical backgrounds, M loved giving Mimi a checkup.
Truck races too!
They brought Mazen a balance bike for his bday! He’s getting good at it quickly.
We had a random mix of lunches and dinners – Matt and I went out one night and we had these two meals in between:
Eggs, toast, nectarine
And a salad with leftover salmon, baked beans and cheese.
Mazen had a great time playing outside this weekend as well – making friends with butterflies
And splashing in muddy puddles!!
I have more fun to share tomorrow about our visit to Monticello on Saturday!!

That instagram video is AWESOME. Makes me want to jump in some puddles!
What’s a balance bike?
Really skillful photographs! Love the one with the bubble in the foreground, the butterfly one, Mazen moving at the speed of light, and Mimi’s check up. Cute toes Mimi!
Looks like some good playing, Mimi and Papa!
That pic of Mazen smiling with the butterfly is JUST adorable. Isn’t it wonderful to experience those simple delights with children? My kids get soooo excited about worms and ants and ladybugs on the sidewalk, it’s like an amazing surprise for them. It’s so special to witness that, as cheesy as it sounds. 🙂
I love seeing glimpses of your cute house! Beautiful and fun photos, too!
Grandparents are the best, aren’t they? Love that picture of M smiling with the butterfly!

Can you tell me the paint color of your living room….light beige or very light off white?
Agreeable Gray! It came with the house

Love that picture of Mazen with the butterfly! Definitely frame-able.
Please send video of Maze riding the balance bike!
You always have such lovely photos! Any tips on a good camera that doesn’t require a phd to use?
My LG G4 has a fantastic camera! But for a good started you can’t go wrong with a Canon Rebel. There are also tons of point and shoots but I honestly don’t know enough about them to recommend one
Just catching up… my son has a Mimi and Papa too 🙂 Funny!
