Nutrition Nibbles

Howdy!

The breakfast was a nice mid-morning snack. They had a whole buffet but I just had some vegetable frittata (i had veggies in both breakfasts today!!) and a corner bite of a slice of fruit n nut bread. Plus coffee!!!

Due to my late breakfast, I packed a smaller lunch and didn’t eat till about 2pm. It hit the spot though!

Leftovers! I chopped up some broccoli last night and steamed it in the microwave (which just means I let it be dripping wet when I put it in) for 1 minute 30 seconds. Topped with salt and pepper. Plus a handful of those DELICIOUS whole wheat sweet potato gnocchi!

Plus an organic gala

IMG_7682 (640x427)

And finally that little Larabar packed if I need it for a snack! Not sure if I will since my date at 5pm involves consumption!

Excited to meet Matt for a fun date surprise!

We always have bowls of fresh fruit out in our breakroom….RIGGGHTTT next to the homemade scones, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, whatever naughty treat a coworker has brought in 🙂

Perfect example of balance?! Enjoy your date 🙂

Hi there! I just found your site and I wanted to say that I got super excited when I read your “about me” section. I too have just decided to go to school to become a RD- but I’m in the same boat you were at the beginning- I have no science credits! It’s going to be a long road but I’m excited! Anyway, just wanted to say hi! 🙂

Tilapia is sooo good. I agree that handing out free fruit is the best, I love staying at hotels like the Monoco that always have free apples in the lobby and gym.

Sugar is sugar. I don’t believe there are “good” and “bad” sugars. Use them all sparingly!

Hi Kath! Just wanted to ask you a question about apples…know you eat a LOT of them. Do you always eat the peeling? I have been, but read an article in Prevention mag…it said if you can’t buy organic then you should never eat the peeling. They spray them with lots of pesticides which are causing cancer and increased Parkinson’s disease! It even said the farmers who grow them are getting these diseases. What do you think?

      Kay,
I wouldn’t say I eat a LOT of them! Maybe 2-3 a week. I buy organic apples now, but when I eat them in public I just make sure to wash them well. I’m not that worried about the pesticides on a few washed apples.
