New Finds

It’s time for another New Finds post of fun things to share!!

Hair x 2

Starting with not one but TWO shampoos that rock my world!

I came home from my trip to Celestial Seasonings with this pair of Alba’s Hawaiian line in Plumeria. Gah the smell is DIVINE!!! And for a natural shampoo without synthetic fragrances, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium myreth sulfate, it foams really well and makes my hair look and feel great. Best shampoo I’ve tried this year!

Foodblog-4983

However, this duo by Oribe from Birchbox is a close second. My sister told me about them and convinced me to give them a try. I just bought the travel size because this set is $$$! For totally different reasons from the Alba, the smell is amazing, and my hair is transformed after using them. Since they are so pricey I save them for a once a week treat.

Superfood Cards by Nourish Schools (Sponsored)

I received these Superfood cards to review, and they are a great set of healthy eating information! Everything someone would need to know to get started cooking real food.

SuperFood Cards

The cards feature how-tos, tips and information on different healthy food categories – from greens to beans to whole grains. Photos, charts and recipes all explain the how + why of enjoying these clean eats. They’d make a great gift for anyone wanting some instructions on eating healthier – including yourself and those resolutions you set!

Toms Slippers

A week ago I was up with insomnia in the middle of the night, and as always, I headed to Instagram. I saw this post of Emily’s about her Toms Slippers and immediately went to find some online. (Note: I do not recommend shopping at 4am. Impulse buys are likely!) I finally found a pair at Nordstrom in my size (they were sold out at the Toms site) and put them in my cart. Because I didn’t remember my credit card number, I waited until morning to buy them. But at 8am – they were sold out!! Later that morning I found them in my second choice color and they were on the way to my house.LOVE them! Best slippers ever. Do you know what I love most? There are no laces to come untied!

Lucky Vitamin (Sponsored)

Lucky Vitamin invited me to poke around on their site and share some of my favorite new finds with you guys. They are like a virtual health store and have everything from aromatherapy candles, to healthy snacks, awesome shampoo (!!), essential oils, natural toothpaste, and of course, vitamins. Anything in the health arena you might need, they will have. Links above – and below are some of my favorites!

Blog School

Last winter I signed up for Blog School with Rita, the Blog Genie. Blog School is a 6 month long, online training program that combines monthly lessons, detailed worksheets and an active community to help you plan, grow and profit from your blog.

Blog School

You can be days into blogging or years like myself and walk away with tons of great information. The modules are self-paced, so you can work on them when you wish, and you’ll always have access to them. The modules cover Foundations, Design, Content, Growth, Social Media, Money & Media and more. I can’t emphasize enough how much this program helped me figure out what I wanted out of KERF (and am still debating!) It really makes you think about your goals, reflections, readers and future. Rita’s writing and information is clear, and there are so many tips and links that she shares that have changed the way I blog.

The new session of Blog School enrollment opens February 9, but in the mean time, there’s a FREE program you can try out to see if you like the format and learn a little about your blog traffic in the process. The Blog School Traffic Roadmap starts February 2. Click here to learn all about it!

Underliner

I used to say that the Bare Minerals Warmth was the one thing I couldn’t leave the house without. These days it’s eyeliner. Moreover, I used to think all eyeliners were created equal. I had tried both drugstore and higher end brands and felt they were both the same: black chalk. But this kind – Noir – that I got from Birchbox has been life changing. Definitely the best eyeliner I’ve ever laid my eyes on….er laid on my eyes!

Great finds!! I would love to win a copy of Katie’s cookbook…she has such great recipe ideas! My fave way to eat chocolate is simple, in it’s purest form. Having said that I don’t eat much of it because it wreaks havoc on my stomach! ;-(
I’ve been making homemade chocolates for quite some time now so I guess I’ll have to say that my fave chocolate is homemade 😉

What makes the underliner different from other eyeliners? I’ve never liked any of the eyeliners I’ve tried so I would be interested in trying something different if you wouldn’t mind explaining why you like it. Thanks!

I just bought those Superfood Cards on Amazon, and I’m so excited to receive them! I love all things nutrition and finding new ways to both view it myself and teach others. Also, I have been using Ogx for a while now, and I love their products. I especially love their shimmery lotion that I found two summers ago and look forward to wearing it during the warmer months. Thank you for an awesome post!

Hiya Kath!!! I LOVE anything chocolate, but if I had to pick one thing, it would be my Grandma’s chocolate sauce. When growing up, she would make a chocolate sauce that we would spoon on plain white bread or vanilla ice cream. It was sooooooo delicious, and oh so very rich. I’ve remembered that all these years, and have never found a substitute that was as good. I’ve been following Chocolate Covered Katie for a while now, and love her blog. First, I LOVE the Celestial Seasonings store in Boulder. I was totally shocked the first time I went and realized that they have so much more than tea, and that they sell exclusive teas (Fast Lane became my fave for pre-weekend runs)! I found another Alba product there that keeps my naturally frizzy hair resistant to humidity. I only wish I found it before I moved to Denver, when I lived in NYC!
