Musical Mow

After a busy afternoon of conference calls (yay blog summit!!!!!!!!!), I finally got around to mowing the lawn. It was kinda fun though because I wore my iPod and listened to fun songs! No one can hear me singing Celine Dion over the roar of the mower, right!?!??

this !

This afternoon I went a little crazy with the kashi crackers for snacktime. I think I’ve been deprived! Insert 1.5 servings and maybe a hint of nut butter on a few of them!?

After mowing and shower #2 today, I sat down to a wonderful, easy, no-clean up dinner! Matt worked another 15 hour day, so I was on my own.

In a bowl I layered: romaine, my leftover fish salad + tortilla from Phat Burrito, leftover sunburst trout from Mother’s Day, Newman’s Own peach salsa, some avocado, some cheese and jalapenos.

IMG_6066 (1024x768)

It was killer!!!

IMG_6067 (1024x768)

There was some rice + beans in the burrito –

After dinner I finally got to lounge on the couch for a bit.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have waited my WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tasks, now in Calendar too

I am not completely sold (ToDoist is still the most user friendly and eye-pleasing) but since my to-do list is much smaller now that school is out, I’m going to test it out for a bit. The best part between this and Gmails is now you can sort by date – the most important piece for organization. But you still can’t sort by date across multiple projects, which is so super important, but I LOVE the G-Cal integration. I’m already having some trouble with loading though… And I don’t know if you can print it!?

Two nights ago I discovered the Meditation page on YogaDownload. There’s actually some fun things there. I actually did the Sleepy Sleepy Moon kids meditation! It was 8 minutes and very relaxing. I liked being told the moon was yawning and I was “all snuggly in my covers.” If you have kids, this would be a fun bedtime routine. Tonight I’m thinking about doing the Progressive Meditation. I used to love it in theater class when she would guide us through them. I’ll let you know how it is!

Tomorrow we’re flying to New Orleans!! AHHH! Not until the afternoon though, so I should have the morning to get things together.

Nite!

Those meditations sound great! Do you know if they have any free ones to try out? Otherwise, be sure to let me know if you find a really good one to buy!

Oh thank god they added tasks!! Its one of the reasons I have never switched from my Palm pda, because I have a “tasks in the calendar” addiction. I have had Palm pilots since 8th grade, so needless to say I am a freak about electronic organization and I appreciate this bit of news!!

Enjoy New Orleans! I met a student at Tulane this summer – he said the funniest thing about New Orleans was the ATMs that dispense singles. For those “adult entertainment” venues.

Heather mentioned dipping Kashis in Greek yogurt…actually the best thing to do is make a dip by mixing Greek yogurt *and* almond butter, then dip your Kashi crackers in that. 🙂 It’s delicious!

    Have fun in New Orleans!

    Haha – I suppose I did!!

    Lauressa ,
Whoa – I guess they are expired!! They still taste great though 🙂

    Katie ,
I stopped regularly weighing myself when I stopped losing weight. It was driving me nuts to see the number flux every day, and I knew it wasn’t helping me keep sane. I’ve weighed myself a handful of times in the past year. I can gauge pretty well by how I just FEEL, although I did put on some weight that crept on this winter. My clothes did get tighter!

    hey kath!

so i am a fellow to-do list addict and use outlook- have yu ever tried it?

I set it up so that my gmail account comes through my outlook. The best part is that it includes an amazing to do list function that lets you sort any way you want and is totally customizable. You can drop emails into you list and make them tasks, drop tasks onto your calendar and lots more 🙂

thought i would pass it along since my search for the perfect list has officially ended.

    love your blog!

The Kashi Crackers really are THAT good. I love the Honey Sesame, but the original ones are good too! I don’t like the other kinds (like the Asiago and the Fire-Roasted Vegetables). I guess I just like a more subtle flavor in the crackers.
