Morning Exercise

Boy did we get a workout this morning!

Our day started early, but not bright, at 4:45.

I exercised some patience as I waited for the hotel to move the parking charges from Karen’s room to ours, making us 15 minutes late. And again as I made two wrong turns on the dark streets of Marco Island.

I strengthened my eyeballs on the hour drive to the airport as I kept myself alert.

I poured out more patience as we stopped for gas, returned the rental car, and walked to the gate with two bulky bags.

My jaw got a great workout when we stopped to wolf down some Starbucks oatmeal with just 30 minutes to boarding outside of security because there was nothing inside of security.

IMG_3006Blog

It was quite chaotic

IMG_3009Blog

But I exercised creativity turning plain instant oats into a bowl of banana, Barney Butter, nuts, dried fruit and granola.

IMG_3010Blog

Caffeine exercised my nerves

IMG_3011Blog

As soon as we crossed through security, we were greeted with a big “DELAYED” sign. Delayed till 11:30, meaning we missed our connection and rushed for nothing.

I got a great workout pacing back and forth while I was on the phone with both Delta and US Air for 45 minutes.

IMG_3019Blog

Our flight changed again – more phone calls!

[Clearly I did not make fashion a priority today!]

IMG_3021Blog

We finally had to exit back through security to the ticket office and get our new flight assignment. Then Karen had to go to baggage claim, get her suitcase, and re-check that at the new counter. More lines!

IMG_3016Blog

Matt and I kept busy with a pair of Wisp toothbrushes. Workout for the teeth.

IMG_3012Blog IMG_3015Blog

We’re now flying through Charlotte, so at least if we get stuck there we can visit with our friends!

Free Wi-fi made my day! Now we can at least work while we’re stuck.

IMG_3025Blog

One good thing is that both Delta and US Air had excellent customer service. We were given food vouchers (for $6!) and the people on the phones were really nice. We did have a few bad eggs though…

With our vouchers we got bagel sandwiches for lunch.

IMG_3029Blog

Lox and cream cheese with cuc and lettuce on Jalapeno Cheddar for me

IMG_3027Blog

Which I plan to enjoy on the flight with an orange!

IMG_3028Blog

The greatest exercise of all this morning has been in staying calm. We’ll get there when we get there.

I’m tired from all this exercising!
