Mona Lisa Smile

IMG_4479Blog

I’m still majorly under the weather over here, but I managed to eat a wonderful dinner.

IMG_4478Blog

Karen brought us some Mona Lisa Pasta recently, which is a local homemade pasta shop here in town. They do everything from plain pastas to lasagnas to sauces and more in the shop and it’s all made with TLC. We’ve had their fresh pasta before and it was outstanding! The feature tonight was a wonderful made-from-scratch cheese ravioli. I believe it was the best I’ve ever had!

IMG_4475Blog

We topped it simply with some jarred tomato sauce reduced with red peppers and fresh shredded cheese. It melted into a pizza haven!

IMG_4474Blog

I’m sorry I have nothing green to show you this evening – kale just didn’t seem to suit my palate.

After dinner Matt and I watched half of the movie Black Swan, and now I’m off to an early bedtime.

Feel better Kath! I’m also not feeling so well… Either stress of exam week or the flu 🙁 I think it’s a good sign that you were able to have dinner! I, on the other hand, slept through dinner and am now trying to get my brain to learn physiology! Stomach not happy…

    Hi Kath,
Hope you’ll be feeling better very soon. Don’t get any of that “constructive criticism” bring you down. It’s true that it’s difficult to come up with informative and meaningful content three times each and every day, including weekends, but I am sure that many readers still find your blog inspiring and useful. You will find the appropriate balance, no doubt.

On my end, thanks for talking about added fiber last week. I’m a fan of Kashi cereals and even though its extra fiber doesn’t bother me, “artificial” fiber is something I want to know about.

Somtimes we just need to eat food for our spiritual well-being than for nutrients so good for you! I always look at comments on your blog for fun to see what questions people are asking..I’m sorry about this morning and all those comments. I personally still look forward to your blog every day, especially breakfast. I mean, sure, it’s not as “dietician” focused, but change doesn’t mean that it has become a “boring” blog. I just had a nutrition class today and we were learning about breakfast and he put up a quote that said, “Happiness starts with a leisurely breakfast”. People don’t have to read and I”m sure that’s what is frustrating. I hope you start feeling better!

Do you get sick very often? I get sick maybe once every three years, and can’t tell if that’s due to my diet and activity level OR the fact that I’m a teacher and have just built up immunities to everything from being around sick kids all the time. I’d like to think it’s my lifestyle that helps!
