Minute By Minute

My life is crazy busy this week and I’ve decided to just remind myself that all that matters is the moment. My only responsibility is to live minute by minute and not worry about tomorrow or thereafter.

I’m such a planner that I find I do get anxious if I can’t see a break in my future. I’m working today through Saturday and then Sunday morning we’re getting up early to head to Charlottesville for a bakery location scout. We come home late Monday night and I head to work through another Saturday (to make up both days I’ve missed). The weekend after that we’re traveling to Asheville for our wedding anniversary. Not much of a lazy morning in sight, but I’ll make it through – and time will fly!

Last night mom, Larbs and I were picked up at the restaurant at 3PM and transported back to LaGuardia by 5PM. We said farewell to Larbs and mom and I headed inside for a cup of tea while we waited for our flights. I carry teabags with me so I can have a fun flavor when I travel and only ask for hot water. This was a Tazo Green flavor –

After such a heavy, late lunch I really didn’t have an appetite for dinner. But I grabbed a few snacks for my flight – including some COCONUT WATER I found! LGA has tons and tons of healthy options. Chobani too!!

IMG_2652 (640x427)

Mid-flight I assembled the yogurt, banana and some trail mix I brought from home into a nice snack. It was the perfect amount.

I had landed by 9:30 and was home by 10:30. Everything went smoothly again, thank goodness. I’m a little on the tired side of chipper this morning, but hopefully breakfast will fix that –

The Mix

  • ~1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • ~1 cup Kashi Cinnamon Harvest
  • ~1/2 cup Organic Valley Yogurt – Berry
  • ~2 tbsp Bob’s Red Mill Muesli
  • Chia seeds
  • Coconut
  • TJ’s Valencia PB

The last of my Gypsy Coconut Chai …double bagged

You certainly do have a busy week ahead, but it too will pass and you’ll find yourself with more relaxation time. In the meantime, I say revel in the beauty of your breakfast! I love how you always find a way to make cereal/yogurt mixes look beautiful. Mine often look like what they are- messes! 🙂

I see a slight opening- driving to+from Charlottesville- could you get Matt to drive, and put the Glee soundtrack on, or listen to fun/relaxing podcasts? I know its not much, but still… and remember how every day at work you are doing amazing things for your patients- really making a difference! I’m trying to live by my own Mum’s sage advice- ‘one day at a time’. I hope the teddybears gave you big hugs last night 😉

I love your idea of stashing tea bags with you as you go. Oftentimes I find myself buying an expensive cup of coffee, only to realize that I’d prefer a cup of tea. Why have I never thought of this? 😉

I love SIABs now as well as banana oats and many other things you eat. Thank you for the inspiration and creativity!! Brilliant idea, too, about packing fun teas, trail mix, etc. when you travel. I have a trip coming up and I’m going to do the same. Also, I tried your spiced millet salad last night and it was seriously delicious! We couldn’t stop raving about it. I think I first started using garam masala after reading about it on your blog long ago. Okay, sorry for the long love-fest, but I had to share my gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for a great blog.

Logan (well, depending on the terminal you’re in) has horrible options…sometimes if you’re in a good terminal (American Airlines is good I think ) you have a ton of options!! …others are like health-barren wastelands. I agree – it’s so important to appreciate the moment…especially since life flies by so quickly.

I’m the same way with knowing exactly what my future brings me, and I get overloaded with busy weekends. Starting in the middle of April, were away for two long weekends, then away for a week, and away yet again for two more weekends (there may have been weekend at home to recoup in there, but I don’t remember). Crazy busy, but also fun to get away and see family and friends and new places.

Don’t wish time away too much – I turn 31 next month, and can’t believe how especially quickly the last few years have gone by.
