Mid Morning

Woo hoo – sleeping worked!

IMG_2456Blog

I did in fact wake up at 7 per my body clock, but luckily I was so wiped from two nights in a row that I was able to sleep until 9!

Thus, 10am oats:

IMG_2443Blog

These were almost TOO sweet!!!! Whipped banana oats topped with crumbled Apple Streusel Muffin, sunflower butter and a taste of the new TJ’s Cookie Butter. There is absolutely nothing at all that isn’t delicious about the cookie butter, buuuuuttttt I will say the texture isn’t quite as good as Biscoff. It’s a little thicker and less melty. Still tastes great – perhaps a hint more gingerbread?

IMG_2454Blog

Cookie Mint Crème tea was just what I hoped it would be!

Plans for the day

I just had the TJ’s cookie butter on top of gingerbread pancakes this morning and it melted perfectly! I haven’t tried the biscoff spread though so I can’t compare but I’m in love with the TJ’s one 🙂 Enjoy your lazy Sunday. I slept till 9 and am still in pjs too 🙂

    the Cookie Mint Crème tea..yum

and nothing is ever too sweet for me..that oatmeal bowl looks perfect 🙂

and i agree, the TJs butter is thicker than Biscoff. Less creamy/spready but still great and at half the price give or take and easy to find (well for me b/c i have a tj’s)…it’s a winner 🙂

I’ve been luckily to have had companies and editors contact me over the years – I haven’t done much pitching. But if you’re really itching to dig into it, I would work on recipe ideas and send article ideas to editors

I honestly don’t know how you handle all that sweetness at breakfast! Between the banana, muffin and cookie butter, there’s a lot of added sugar. The cookie butter/Biscoff sounds delicious, but I can’t bring myself to buy it because I’d rather have whole cookies than have them ground up. 😛

Is cookie butter really ground up cookies? I thought it was kinda like cookie flavored peanut butter. I never tried it, actually, I have never even seen it at the store. Maybe cause I only shop the natural/organic section of Wegmen’s & TJ’s or Wholefoods for my other stuff. I am now on the lookout for it.

I also can’t eat sweet at breakfast. I eat oats for a snack or treat. I love a spicy breakfast of fried peppers, mushrooms and onions in with potatoes and tofu eggs and salsa on top. I know, I’m crazy!

    Hi:)
Brekkie looks amazing! Had a quick question, when you use half of a banana is it because of the sweetness or the calories it adds to the oatmeal? Thanks again for the most awesome blog!
    Have a great day!

Mostly to conserve bananas and make them last longer! Sometimes I do use a whole one. Also to cut back on the portion size just a bit and leave room for more topping variety

I need to get my butt to Trader Joe’s and pick some of that stuff up – either that or order the Biscoff (I do like a bit more of a melty texture with my nut butters…)

    Enjoy your day!

I noticed the texture of the TJ’s cookie butter was a little gritty (from specks of gingerbread, I assume). I’ll have to try the Biscoff since the texture sounds a little better to me. Not that I haven’t been been going to town on the cookie butter…;)

Since grocery shopping is on your list… Are you finished Christmas shopping yet? Do you order any Christmas presents online, or purchase them in the stores?

I love shopping! However, I choose not to deal too much with the holiday crowds, which is why I like ordering online, and having it delivered to my door. This way I do not have to deal with the craziness; I do not have to pay for gas to and from the stores; and sometimes I get free shipping–you cannot beat that 🙂

I will admit, though, that I do like shopping the day after Christmas, because that is when stores have awesome sales. But I have not shopped the day after Christmas in quite some time.

I hate when my oatmeal is too sweet! When that happens I usually just dump milk on top and it helps a lot.
That cookie butter looks like cookie dough! Maybe if you bury it in the oats a little so it melts…
