Life’s Joys

Friends, Bread + Wine!

If only for 5 minutes, it was great to see Michelle + Ben. They are actually headed out of town while we’re staying in their guest room (but they’ll be back on Monday to play!)

Matt and I headed uptown to visit with a handful of Q City friends. Sadly the lighting was awful and we didn’t get any great photos, but the dinner was fun and it was so fun to gab about life.

A glass of Zin

And what goes better with wine than chewy bread!? Providence Cafe gets brownie points for their bread! (Also, great service and accommodation for a party of 13.5)

IMG_6211 (640x427)

I nibbled off of Jen’s spinach + artichokes

And then dove into my Spinach + Crabcake salad. I love crabcakes because I’ve got 50% Maryland blood! These came with spiced pecans and goat cheese and a dijon dressing that I ordered on the side but came on top. It ended up OK because it was good and not too drenched.

Jen and Diana ordered Angel + Devil desserts

One chocolate

IMG_6230 (640x427)

One fruity

I had tastes of both, and although I’m a huge dark chocolate person, I think my favorite was the apple caramel tart

Early 2 bed, early 2 rise!

I don’t even care for milk chocolate at all anymore! I just bought a 70% cocoa baking bar today and it’s just what I wanted for dessert 🙂 Not the whole thing- just a square!

The desserts look so mouthwatering. I’m a dark chocolate girl too, but if that tasted anything like an apple pie, I’d be all over it!

Glad you’re having such a great time being back! I really miss my home too.

That apple tart looks so good — fruity desserts win over chocolate almost always for me…

We have some friends in northern MN who let us stay at their house when they are gone — its fun to kind of pretend to be them for a few days 🙂 Enjoy!
