Leftovers + Laughing

Pretty much sums up the day.

This morning we went on a great hike and walked about 4 miles. The crew:

(Mom was the photographer)

And a funny swimming doggie!

We came home to a wonderful late lunch of Thanksgiving leftovers.

DSC06379

I had a little of everything –

DSC06380

And made a wonderful turkey + cranberry sandwich on a roll –

Seconds on kale –

Mom wanted some pie and I said I’d help her with one bite. Here’s my one bite!

Mom and I went shopping this afternoon to Kohls and Bed, Bath & Beyond. I got a black and white shower curtain for our powder bath (after 2 years in this house we FINALLY got a curtain!) so now the home-brewed beer is covered. The whole den of our house has been transformed this weekend with the new furniture and the curtain.

I was totally pooped after my workout, hike and 2 hours more shopping on my feet but we were due at Karen’s condo at 5:30 for dinner!

I started with some Chardonnay –

Karen had out cheese and crackers. I had about 4 total throughout the evening.

Wine pour #2

Small pour #3. I keep my glasses of wine tiny so I get lots of ’em.

DSC06398

For dinner Karen made chicken marsala –

And spinach + veggie salads –

DSC06401

I ate all of my salad plus about 2/3 of the chicken dish (I left 2 of the bigger pieces of chicken. We were served the portions so I didn’t put this much on my plate to begin with!)

DSC06403

My leftovers (snapped discreetly!)

DSC06415

Mas vino – tiny pours! Boy that’s a lotta wine!

For dessert we had ice cream sundaes! Mine was big – But my dad’s with the grandfather of them all!

So tired – goodnight!

The rolls look exactly like the ones my aunt always makes – we call them “doughballs.” She usually makes two batches, one a bit more “done” than the other.

    Brendalala ,
Thanks! It’s my birthday present from Karen and she got it at LOFT.

    Fancy ,
It’s really hard for me to get the recipes for stuff when I have them at other people’s houses. This was just a standard chicken marsala recipe (nothing healthy about it!) so I think any you found at MyRecipes.com would be comparable.

You actually make it appear so easy together with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be really something that I believe I would never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely wide for me. I’m looking ahead on your next post, I will attempt to get the hang of it!
