Kneaded For Kneading

I had grand plans for a beautiful Saturday morning run and a 9AM bakery arrival, freshly showered and refreshed.

IMG_1474 (640x427)

But Matt needed me for kneading! We were down a sweets baker this morning and he had to get up at 3 to do that, plus bake, plus knead. So of course I agreed to fill in the spot.

IMG_1472 (640x427)

I biked in during the beautiful sunrise

IMG_1473 (640x427)

I got my workout doing 2 hours of shoulder exercises kneading that dough instead of running! Any workout that makes me break a sweat counts for the day!

IMG_1491 (640x427)IMG_1485 (640x427)

Breakfast was fit in when I had time – which was never!! I’m just now eating it up.

IMG_1475 (640x427)

A Siggi’s from home, plus banana, some of our new granola bars and apple crunch apples!

IMG_1477 (640x427)IMG_1478 (640x427)IMG_1479 (640x427)

Granola bars!! They’re made from the Cville Cluster “dough” and they are awesome!

IMG_1481 (640x427)IMG_1483 (640x427)

My favorite part of kneading is making fun shapes! I decided with the leftover Apple Crunch dough to make a pizza – aka flatbread

IMG_1486 (640x427)

My GOSH is this good!!!!!!!!!

IMG_1488 (640x427)

I’d like to put it on the menu. Matt is less creative. We’ll have to fight it out, bite by bite!

IMG_1487 (640x427)IMG_1493 (640x427)

Snake came in for breakfast!!

IMG_1489 (640x427)

He loved the Apple Crunch and is coming back after a long bike ride for Cheddar Garlic!

IMG_1490 (640x427)

Come one, come all – we have lots of delicious bread to eat!

You should defintely put that on the menu! My mom used to make something similar when we were kids. Baked cinnamon-y apples atop bread are still a fav treat.

Oh, yeah! That’s like what they do on “DC Cupcakes” (the TLC show about Georgetown Cupcake) for their Twitter followers, giving out code words for the “secret” not-on-the-menu flavor du jour. Fun idea, but probably too much threat of waste?

I hate when my plans get changed – so your positivity is enlightening! Look at the bright side – a beautiful sunrise, and a funky flatbread.

When I was in Cville, my sister and I would go to Albermarle Bakery on weekend mornings and get their Fruit Focaccia, a sweet focaccia topped with mascarpone and fresh berries – your apple pizza reminds me of that! I bet yours is just as delicious if not better !!! 🙂
