KERF’s Little Helper

Thank goodness for husbands! I’ve been busy working and studying and he kept me fed.

Starting with a little snack around 5:00. He was rummaging in the kitchen for a snack and I said "I’m hungry too. Can you please bring me something to put in my mouth?"

Next thing I know there’s a little bowl of nuts for munching. [He even took the photo while i typed!]

IMG_4013 (427x640)

Next delivery: a beer tasting! [I didn’t ask for this one!] He wanted me to try his newest Peach Wheat.

IMG_4015 (427x640)

It was good, but not fabulous. Too sour!

He consulted me on the food stock and we decided on a stir-fry with beans and bok choy and rice.

IMG_4023 (640x427)

IMG_4016 (640x427)

IMG_4018 (640x427)

He cooked carrot, celery and green pepper in a wok, added the stalks of some bok choy and 1 cup of canned navy beans, then the greens of the bok choy and finally a sauce made from a little-of-this rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, tamari, wasabi powder, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.

Garnished with some toasted sesame seeds

IMG_4021 (640x427)

IMG_4035 (640x427)

It was delish, but left me wanting to cleanse my palate afterwards!

Thanks for all your help Kanz! "Ooo ooo!"

One of my fav. restaurants in Ontario serves a Strawberry beer, which is to die for, so I think I would enjoy the peach.

    Hey Kath!

I have a serious questions for ya…ok…not really that serious, but important! I remember a while back ago you posted a video from one of your classes on eating disorders. Well, I am a professor teaching nutrition at a university, and I really wanted to show that film to my class. Would it be possible for you to send me the link? I would really appreciate it! Good luck studying for MNT! I am about to take the RD exam in a couple of weeks…yikes. 🙂 I just finished my MS/internship program, and am teaching part time. It is a great way to study for the RD exam! Anyway, thanks again. Love your blog!

    Sarah,
Lungberg’s short grain brown. it’s the best! Made with veggie broth so it’s a darker brown.

    CSisk,
It was Nova’s “Dying to be Thin”
    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/thin/

    Magdalena,
It’s Pottery Barn’s Great White (although our plates are a different line from a local store in South Carolina).
