In The Middle Of The Night

The alarm went off.

This time it was an alarm clock. 3:30am – time to get up!

Unlike my 5am wake-up to go to work this week, this one was not so pleasant, as I was in the middle of a deep, deep sleep. But a hot shower and the thought of being in 80 degree weather this afternoon got me up and moving.

We just arrived in Richmond after a dark, long drive. The only thing keeping us awake was talk of all the fun we hope to have this week.

Wish I were about to enjoy these beauties after 10 hours of sleep:

But instead we have packed PB&J on Dakota bread and clementines to enjoy after a nap on our flight. They most certainly do not look this pretty:

Matt and I have taken many trips, but we have never taken a vacation, aside from our honeymoon of course. We are super excited to be traveling to CARIBBEAN today! I hope there is coffee in Orlando…..See you there!

We waited 10 years before my hubbie and I took our first real vacation together outside of the honeymoon. Somehow the time just flew by…glad you are stopping to ‘smell the roses’ along your journey together…so important to reconnect in this crazy thing called ‘life’. Enjoy your time together!

I have never, ever been myself – nor on a real vacation hah! Are you “island-hopping” cruise-style or going to one specific locale? Either way, sounds like a great Christmas vacation!
