I Asked, It Delivered

Happy Mother-in-Law’s day to Karen!! Matt and I took our morning run over to her place to deliver a card and half a loaf of bread.

[Yes, we ran 2 miles with those items in our hands!]

Karen was resting, so we had to leave them on our patio. But Happy M Day to you Karen!

IMG_2708Blog this !

Once we were back home and showered, I assembled this AMAZING lunch!!!!!!

IMG_8777Blog

This was maybe the best Cheese + Jam sandwich I’ve ever had!!!

IMG_8778Blog

Sharp white cheddar + strawberry jam on Great Harvest Warrenton’s Apple Raspberry High Five bread. The fruit IN the bread was awesome, as was the thick slab of cheese and sweetness. YUmmmmmm!

IMG_8775Blog

On the side I made a simple salad dressed in honey and EVOO

IMG_8774Blog

And had a bowl of greek yogurt + mango + Lynda’s granola

IMG_8776BlogIMG_8779BlogIMG_8780Blog

Fabulous and filling – everything I could ask for in a lunch! I asked for greatness; it delivered.

IMG_8773Blog

We’re now biking over to the bakery to do some work and then home tonight to roast a chicken!

I’m one of those people who is wary of mixing savory and sweet. Like, meat with fruity sauces freaks me out. But then I will try a salad that has, like, cranberries in it, and I will love it.

So your cheese + jam sandwiches are growing on me. The idea at least. Maybe next time I slice up some super-duper extra sharp cheddar (my favorite), I’ll try dipping a hunk in some jam. I really hope I like it.

That GH combo sounds like one of the best breads for a cheese and jam! Though, at first I thought the apple pieces were chunks of cheddar, which would NOT have been a bad thing either 🙂
