Hour Of Sweat

Cycle was HARD this morning! I was sweating buckets!

this !
But it was also fun.

I planned out this breakfast as I was spinning away:

The other half of the GH Blackberry Oat Bran Muffin, toasted in the oven and topped with a dab of butter –

IMG_1658 (1024x768)

Blueberry Chobani with Blueberries and Flax

IMG_1656 (1024x768)

And that sneaky pear! (Which I devoured in about 30 seconds it was so ripe)

IMG_1657 (1024x768)

Plus coffee! I dined with the husband, who isn’t due to work until 11. We discussed baking 🙂

IMG_1654 (1024x768)

Despite being whole parts, I am very full right now! I think the pear put me over the edge. Calorically this breakfast tops my oatmeal ones, so let’s hope the fullness reflects the satiety (I have a feeling it will). I believe we are making ice cream in lab today, so I hope we don’t have to do a lot of taste testing .

See you guys after my date with Kelsey!

Looks delicious, as always! Ice cream taste-testing sounds fun, but given it’s winter it shouldn’t be too tempting 🙂

    Hi Kath!

Glad to hear you were thinking about food during your cycle class! ;-). Hee.

Okay so I have to say, I have a sweet tooth as well, and I am frequently jealous of the way the husband indulges in the carby goodness from work! I’m sure his metabolism is beyond awesome, and it burns right off him — but still! So jealous! 😉 I love baked goods.

Love sweet potato fries. I needed a little extra something in my lunch today, so I did a sweet potato with salt and pear butter. Happy VDay!

    Hi–
What is your protein goal (%) in a day? Seems that there are a lot of carbs, from what I have learned. Do you track that?
    Thanks–

I am loving your mix-it-up breakfasts, I have yet to have yogurt in the morning, but maybe as the months get closer to summer I’ll start incorporating!

Wow – did that toasted muffin bring back memories. I used to toast a honey bran muffin just about every morning for breakfast when I was in college. It never needed butter and the toastier it was, the tastier! I had myself believing that because it was a bran muffin it was OH SO healthy.

Do you mix the regular flaxseed with golden flaxseed? I do, and it looks similar to yours when ground. I’m not sure what the difference is between regular & golden, but I always mix a bag of them together.

Kath not sure if you are a fan of top chef but they did the episode based on some of the best chefs in the worlds what they would want to eat as their last meal.

so what would your last meal be?

    what about everyone else/

Last meal? Shrimp scampi or ceviche (or hell, both). A huge Whole Foods salad (at least it’ll be the last time for their delish but overpriced food!) My bf’s turkey and lasagna in tomato sauce. Cornbread and biscuits. Chocle (large corn from Central/South America- kicks American corn’s ASS). A brownie, truffles and dark chocolate.

    A calorie-fest!

    Helen Colley ,
It does not smell like oranges – a disappointment!

    Penny ,
I do not track protein and never have. Most Americans get more than enough. If I were to track it, I’d aim for about 50 grams per day – not too hard with 15 gram Chobanis, tofu, milk in oats, peanut butter, pasta, etc.

    Lori ,
Our YMCA membership is $75 a month for two. It comes with multiple locations and everything one would need (pools, classes, etc.)

    CaSaundra ,
    Check the Kath page.

    Betsy ,
No, my flax is 100% brown. I think the inside is a lighter color. I’m not sure what the difference is either, but I bet they taste slightly different.

    Leng ,
My grandmother, and I have no idea where she did.

    DaisyMay ,
Oh gosh, tough but great question!! I would want to eat the following, not necessarily in this order:

oats (because I have to say that!), Barney Butter, greek yogurt, sweet potato, kale, Cold Stone’s Cake Batter Ice Cream topped with toffee and whipped cream, chocolate ganache (plain!), buttercream icing (plain), pecan pie, my wedding cake. I’m sure I could fit it all!
