Hot Water

We sure lucked out on the weather this weekend because it’s pouring and dark outside today 🙁

There’s a very small exercise room here and we set the alarm in case we felt like going this morning, but turns out we didn’t

 this !
We didn’t want to feel rushed getting ready for the big day.

After showers and packing up the room, we headed down to check out the hotel breakfast. After a quick once-over, I opted for more Rokit Fuel (my last packet) and toppings from the snack bag. Luckily we had packed an extra banana from yesterday’s breakfast that we used today! Snack bag to the rescue!!

I mixed Rockit Fuel, half a packet of Quaker instant plain, half a banana, some Pomegranate Vanilla Cashews I got at BlogHerFood and some of a sesame almond Bumble Bar, which was quite a nice oat topping.

IMG_6187 (640x427)

As for the coffee, well, I think it was just coffee flavored water!? Starbucks VIA to the rescue! A packed jazzed it up and make it more appealing to the senses

The hotel did have plenty of options I could have happily eaten – whole grain bran flakes with milk, a bowl of mixed fruit, egg patties with wheat toast, but y’all know I love my mixed up bowls 🙂

People always make fun of my mom’s coffee because it literally is water with a few grains of coffee mixed in for color. It has no strength at all. So your coffee comment made me laugh. 😛

Kath, have you tried quinoa? It takes me 9 minutes to cook in the micro every mornin’. It’s higher in protein than oatmeal, with a much more pleasant, chewy texture. I add cottage cheese (got that tip from you–thanks!), stevia and erythritol for sweetness, a 2 tablespoons protein powder (whey or hemp), a tablespoon flax meal, vanilla extract, and sometimes goji berries (get ’em cheap at the asian market), cacao powder, or cinnamon (for blood sugar control). It’s great with cocount milk and nuts, too. Happy eating!
