Hot Cross Buns

The Baker got up extra early to bake off fresh rolls for breakfast for everyone with the pizza dough leftovers

IMG_2591 (640x427)

IMG_2594 (640x427)

I had mine topped with butter and jam. So doughy, so delicious.

IMG_2586 (640x427)

A hard boiled egg for some protein. Eggs are a near perfect food!

IMG_2593 (640x427)

Fruity

IMG_2587 (640x427)

Two cups of joe

IMG_2585 (640x427)

I prefer one-bowl breakfasts, but sometimes I really enjoy a "part of this complete breakfast" plate. All that’s missing are the cartoons!

IMG_2584 (427x640)

We’re digesting, maybe going for a short walk/run, and taking the 12:30 ferry to Wilmington to have lunch with blog reader Holly. Justin and Amanda are arriving this evening!

    hi kath-
Your vacation looks fabulous! Up here in DC it has been waay too cold and snowy for outdoor runs, I’m beginning to feel like a hamster with all the treadmill time I’m logging.
    Two questions:
    1) When you and Matt move to Charlottesville, i assume he’ll be opening a bakery there? Do you know where it will be located exactly?
    2) Do you have any upcoming trips to Cville planned? I’m returning next week to start my final semester at UVA 🙁 If you do, PLEASE make sure you hit up Feast (a gourmet grocery store/cafe- their sandwiches are to die for and they use the best ingredients) and Bikram Yoga Charlottesville!

    thanks!

      Stephanie,
No idea where the bakery will be yet. We’re going to start looking for locations after the new year, which will probably include a visit. I might not be able to make it with my work schedule, but Matt will be up for sure. I’m hoping to go too if I can squeeze it in!

    Kath,

Do you feel it’s easier for you to run such long (in my opinon) distances because you played soccer? Or when you started, did you have to spend more time to build yourself up? And if you did, about how long did it take for the running to start getting easy? Thank you!

    P.S.
Love your blog! Read every day!

      April,
I am of the mind-set (ironically) that running is mostly mental. I knew I’d have no problem jumping from 5 to 6 miles before I even did it. Or 6 to 7. And I started the same way with 3-4 and 4-5. You can go out there and run as far as you want if you wanted to (although your body might not be primed and ready to handle it without injury long-term). So just know you can do it. There’s no shame in stopping to walk some if that helps.
