Homeward Bound

2012-05-31 08.59.03

I just returned from one final long hot 3 mile beach walk. Matt went running, so I listened to 5 New Moms, New Babies podcasts while I walked. The walk was long, but it went by fast!

Before I left –

Yogurt, berries, banana, Cville Crunch, sunbutter

I will miss
  • The walks
  • The ocean sounds
  • The seafood
  • The king size bed
  • The to-do list
  • The family

But you know it’s a good vacation when you’re ready to go home.

I can’t wait for
  • Our kitchen
  • Our porch
  • Our garden
  • Our friends
  • Our shady streets
  • Fridays After Five

It looks like a gorgeous last day, especially compared to the clouds yesterday! I agree – vacations are great (especially when they include beaches) but I’m always ready to come back home to my own bed and kitchen. Safe travels! 🙂

Beautiful walks! DC has a similar “Fridays after Five”; a free jazz concert in the National Gallery of Art! It’s a massive event and always packed, but a good effort on the city’s part.

Kath I am so sad your trip has come to an end because it was like re-living my life, a decade ago. It doesn’t appear that much has changed on that beach. It’s as gorgeous as I remember it and I am so happy you guys had SUCH a great time and PERFECT weather!

Was it a Thursday-Wednesday rental? Just curious how they set it up to include the holiday weekend.

Thurs-Thurs. It’s still considered the “value season” so we could do a nightly rental for a week

Great idea to make a list about other things you are looking forward to. When something fun and relaxing ends I always find myself kinda in a slump…next time I’m going to make a positive list!
