Salad extraordinaire –

IMG_2471 (640x427)

  • Spinach base
  • Microwave-steamed broccoli (it tastes too iron-y for me raw so I nuke it in a little water for 1 min)
  • Green pepper
  • Sprouted mung beans from Emily (go to The Front Burner for sprouting details!)
  • Chunky, creamy bleu cheese
  • TJ’s Cilantro Jalapeno hummus
  • Sea salt

Strawbs

Los chips – Food Should Taste Good Cinnamon!

A cascade of delicious –

Couple more hours of work and I’m headed straight to the airport. And getting Jamba for a snack!

Anyone remember that episode of The Office where Creed is talking about sprouting mung beans? Bahaha…

Michael: Okay, Ryan, you told Toby that Creed has a distinct old man smell?
Creed: I know exactly what he’s talking about. I sprout mung beans on a damp paper towel in my desk drawer. Very nutritious, but they smell like death.

I always microwave my broccoli first before adding it to my salad. Tastes so much better. I have that cilantro dressing and don’t like it. Maybe if I add blue cheese it will take the blandness away.

Love those TJs hummus… have you tried the Spicy one yet? There’s another one in addition to the jalapeno, and it’s fantastic. The creaminess of them is perfect for salad dressing. Or direct spoon-to-mouth action!

In Australia, we *never* eat brocolli raw, so the first time I tried it in the US I was really weirded out. It tasted so GREEN. But now I kinda love it, particularly if blue cheese is involved!
