Happy Breadsgiving!!

Today has been just madness – so many things to do, so many customers, so many orders!

IMG_8949 (600x450)

I’ve been breaking a sweat running around – seriously. But it’s fun. I love being this kind of busy for this kind of boss.

IMG_8952 (450x600)

IMG_8951 (600x450)

I’ve been merchandising guru and working on making our retail items look beautiful and arranging packs of sweets and breads on display. We also have a ONE HUNDRED SANDWICH order to fill today, so that’s added a whole new level of excitement!

IMG_8954 (600x450)

It’s 10am and I’m just now having breakfast!!!

Coffee!!

IMG_8948 (600x450)

An egg from home and a slice of Dakota with Butter Toffee peanut butter! I also had a 8th of a muffin at about 8am to tide me over. No idea where my banana went!?

IMG_8953 (600x450)

I was also greeted with some wonderful mail this week – thank you notes from Ms. Carlson’s class!!

IMG_8939 (600x450)

So cute – the handwriting and the drawings!

Hope you have a lovely Breadsgiving Eve!!

    Hi Kath

I am enjoying your blog all the way from Belgium! 🙂
It’s really nice to have a little insight in the life of an American girl!

I discovered your blog only recently and have been reading your older posts too.
That’s where I got the following question. I seems to me that back in 2008 you looked a bit tinier than you do now. Today you look a little more muscular and therefore ‘fuller’. I wonder which ‘version’ of yourself you like better?

Let there be no misunderstanding: I think you are a very goodlooking and beautiful woman, both then and now. I’m just curious about what you think about this yourself 🙂

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
(Too bad we don’t celebrate that over here:-))

Tough question. I think I just have a different life now. I have more to celebrate and more to enjoy these days. I own a bakery now, I write a food blog now, I have a home-brewing beer husband now. So I’d say I’m really happy with how life is going right now, and my body reflects that 🙂

Indeed…beautiful perspective, Kath! A full and healthy life includes celebrating good food. Over-restriction is a form of control and to what end? To achieve some “goal” weight? In my opinion, a huge waste of energy and joy!

Rare commenter, but I just had to chime in here! I, too, love your response here, Kath! Very positive and inspiring perspective, particularly with the holidays around the corner, a time when too many women (and probably men too) misdirect their time and energy by obsessing over their bodies. And it also demonstrates a very realistic self-image because, though you may look different than a few years ago, as the original commenter (and those darn cute kids) observed, you are beautiful!

        I like your response.

Do you think you’ll do a post on this in the near future? This isn’t the first time it’s been brought up in the comments. People look to you for advice and I’m sure they would LOVE (myself included) advice/perspective on how you come to terms with changing weight at different times of your life, etc. You are very relatable when you talk honestly about that, and not just about how perfect/organized/controlled everything is in your life. No one is saying you look better/worse now, but we all go through changes and it would be great to hear you talk about that.

Being happy in your own skin is a very VERY personal thing and hard to address.

You just can’t give advice other than, you have to find our own personal state of grace, and be content with you, takes a lot of self reflection and just general acceptance of you as a person and not caving to what the media, society or anyone says is OK or beautiful. You must be your own biggest fan and happy in your own skin whether it is a size 2, 10, 14, 20 or 26.

Happy Thanksgiving! My mind doesn’t allow me to negatively judge people in such ways as some commenters have. I make an adult decision to not do so. Just smile and wave….smile, and wave! 🙂

60 is awesome! Especially for your first holiday. Sounds like you guys had a better than expected turnout…hooray! Congrats to you both and the crew 🙂

Wow what a day! Congrats on all the sales! If I lived near you, you can bet half those sales would have been to me, haha.
