Great Harvest Pizzeria

Keg stands at the bakery? Well, what did you expect!?

IMG_2234Blog

But don’t worry – Matt brought in a keg of SPARKLING WATER that we mixed with lemonade for cocktail hour ; )

IMG_2233Blog

And the pizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaa! omg.

IMG_2239Blog-2

First, afternoon snack. Still totally in love with berries.

IMG_2227Blog

And sweet crumbles!! I made a little version of blackberry cobbler!

IMG_2223Blog

Our employee meeting was pretty short and sweet as far as work meetings go. Things have been going well – we just had a few things to go over in person and a few new t-shirts to hand out!

To prep, Matt assembled pizzas made for big balls of leftover dough

IMG_2230BlogIMG_2231Blog

And we put together a GIANT garden salad! From the garden!! Good thing we have lots of greens = free!

IMG_2232Blog-2

When the meeting ended, the pizzas went in the oven and came out puffed and perfect!

IMG_2236Blog

IMG_2238Blog-2

We made two on hearty doughs – Dakota and Nine Grain – topped with pesto, tomatoes, peppers, cheese and half organic + local sausage and one just a cheese bomb on Cheddar Garlic dough that was insane!!

IMG_2240BlogIMG_2245Blog-2PizzaaaasBlogIMG_2246BlogIMG_2247Blog

I filled half my plate with greens and the other half with gooey, cheesy dough. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had!!

IMG_2252Blog

The Cheddar Garlic was my favorite. It was every-so-slightly undercooked and all puffed up in doughy delight. I had to go back for a second square!!! The employees were declaring fullness – I could have eaten another 3 pieces! But I tried to use intuitive eating and stopped before it was too late.

IMG_2253Blog-2

Of course it wouldn’t be Great Harvest without a sweet taste for dessert. Scuffin bite. Small portions are where it’s at.

IMG_2254Blog-2

Since it poured rain all afternoon, I actually left my bike at the bakery and plan to walk in tomorrow and bike home. It was kinda nice to ride in an air conditioned car on the ride home with Matt!

Cannot WAIT to read in bed! Really enjoying my new book!

    • KathEats says

Well the Cheddar Garlic dough is 100% white flour, so it has no bran to weigh it down. The other two didn’t puff as much. Also, our Revent oven is pretty awesome 🙂 Better than a home oven for even cooking.

RE. Pizza at the bakery, it seems pretty simple, but it was actually a LOT of labor to do. We will most definitely be selling pizza dough, but we probably will not do pizzas. Also because that would really separate us from a bread bakery to a restaurant and we’d like to keep things focused on the bread. We might do little pizza knots or something, but we’re not going to be able to do fresh hot pizzas at lunchtime. As much as I’d like to!

OMG, that Cheddar-Garlic pizza sounds AMAZING!

If you were still hungry, why didn’t you have more? Just a question! 🙂

A mix of sparkling water and lemonade sounds right up my alley, I have never really been a fan of the real cocktail mixtures, I always complain they put way too much vodka.lols Yum, those pizzas looks amazing!
