Good Afternoon–The Sequel

Good afternoon today because I feel like I slept through the morning!!

I took a Tylenol PM last night – which I only do if I haven’t slept well for a few nights in a row and NEED to sleep – and boy did it help!! I slept till 8am!

Good thing I didn’t spend any time making breakfast!

IMG_8998Blog

Oats in a jar were waiting 🙂

IMG_9000Blog

The BEST part of OIAJ is not getting to the nut butter on the bottom – it’s the SIDES!! I meticulously scrap from the top down and leave the jar spotless of any oats, nut butter or yogurt. It takes a while to do and it’s fun! The same kind of fun as vacuuming rows of dirty carpet.

What’s that you say? You don’t like vacuuming rows? What about lawn-mowing rows? Or sweeping piles?

OK, I admit, I am strange. I am the first born in my family!

IMG_9002Blog

In my jar:

  • Sunflower butter
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Pinch salt
  • Half banana
  • ~1/3 cup Nature’s Path Hemp Plus Granola  (added this AM)

Did you notice the half cup of coffee? It was already made when I came downstairs. I couldn’t pour it out so I poured it in!

IMG_8996Blog

IMG_8994Blog

I’m off to the print shop soon, then BB&B to get that Cuisinart with my coupon, then biking to the bakery. I was hoping to run this morning, but I slept too late! Maybe later. But not too late because we have a birthday party to attend

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAITH!!!

Totally agree on the sides of the jar! And around the edge under the top part of the jar. There are always hidden gems there! Haha. Maybe it is a first born thing?! I’m the oldest and I have a fews random order/organizations quirks… my sisters don’t appear to notice. 🙂

Good morning! I slept in today too, which felt great after notgetting enough sleep the night before.

I still haven’t tried OIAJ, but I love scraping the sides and bottom of my nut butter jars. Can’t miss a drop.

By the way, I went to a food show yesterday and brought home loads of samples. I can finally try Hail Merry grawnola and coconut butter!

Every BB&B I’ve been to allows you to use one coupon per item even though it says one per transaction, so no need to split up the transactions.

I was wondering if you try to keep your breakfast in a certain calorie range? I see that sometimes you don’t use a full serving of certain items. Today’s oats was 1/3cup. I was just wondering if there is a general baseline you shoot for.

My breakfasts are usually 400-600 calories, which is about 1/3 of my daily needs. I don’t count the calories each day.

1/2 a cup of oats is a serving, but I almost always add more oats in the form of granola as a topping, so I figure 1/3 cup raw + a few tbsp on top = 1/2 cup = 1 serving. That’s why I use 1/3.
